For every animal you don't eat, I am going to eat two.

Umm.... Meat is not the culprit in weight gain.

Ironically, if a person ate NOTHING but animals, they'd actually lose a crazy amount of weight, if they were previously overweight

That's... not how weight loss works. It's subtraction.

energy in - energy out = delta weight

There isn't an addendum to that equation that says "unless energy in was once inside an animal, then always weight loss"

Different diets have different applications in terms of weight loss. While calories in does = calories out, some diets favor lowering appetite, and improving biomarkers of health.

Here's a Harvard review showing a low-carb diet (which is what an all-animal diet would be) is better for both weight loss and maintenance, as well as improving triglyceride levels and heart health.

That review compared low-carb to low-fat diets. It's fallacious to argue that since there's evidence that low-carb diets make weight loss easier than low-fat diets, all-animal diets would make weight loss easy.

There is extremely little information available on all-animal diets, since it seems to be a very rare choice. What evidence we do have, though, does not at all indicate that weight loss is a natural effect of the diet.

link Two men in the arctic ate an animal-only diet for a year and experienced no adverse effects, but no long-term weight change either.

The most info we have is based on the Inuits, who ate diets of almost exclusively meat for much of the year. No weight loss magic has been uncovered there either.

Yes, but unfortunately high protein diets aren't healthy long-term. It's more about your lack of carbohydrate intake gets your body burning fat for fuel and you get to enjoy headaches and nausea. But, you do burn a lot of fat. It's an interesting temporary diet. But like all temporary diets, you gain it all back when you return to your normal eating. Most people could lost a lot of weight just by eliminating soda and junk food from their diet.

What does normal eating mean? There is no such thing really. We can all chose our own diet and make our own normal.

[–]bookchaser 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Normal eating is what you consumed before you started your special diet.

[–]pugsaredrugs 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Pretty damn sure normal is a Papa Johns with a 2L of cola

High protein isn't healthy, you are right about that. It's often called "rabbit starvation," because it puts the body through hell. Essentially, you're using a very ineffective system called gluconeogenesis to transform protein into glucose.

But a high-fat, moderate protein, low carb is both incredible for fat loss as well as being sustainable in the long term.

I 100% agree about cutting out soda, though. I get so angry when people refuse diet soda because it "causes cancer." You know what is a catalyst for cancer? 64 grams of pure sugar every single day.

or booze, lets be real

[–]photoshopbot_01 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Mmm. I've heard cancer is good for losing weight.
