Official Statement regarding YoBit trading “IOU” LISK tokens

As many of you may already know, YoBit has decided to sell LISK IOU Tokens before the mainnet of Lisk has even been launched. According to YoBit, if you buy these IOU tokens, they will be swapped for real LISK once the mainnet is official launched.

Let us make this clear: YoBit, nor anyone else, has access to LISK at this moment!

As it is, they have used their exchange status to adopt a very early trading opportunity. In response to this, we want to make it clear for the crypto community that

the Lisk team does not endorse or appreciate early IOU Token trading on the YoBit exchange or any other exchange.

They have taken it upon themselves to set this up, and have never contacted the Lisk team regarding this. We advise the crypto community and other potential buyers to do your research before investing in these IOU Tokens.

The Lisk mainnet launch is scheduled to be released at the end of April, 2016.
