My girlfriend believes her dreams have meanings. Today she missed her first English class for the semester because she had a dream about a mouse and this means someone is going to die.... I really want to slap the superstition out of her at times!!!!!

What if it had been a rat? Is she an expert on this? Like my housemate had a dream about visiting his cousin on his army base in America, and Godzilla attacked?! And the only way out of the control tower he was in, was to jump down onto a well positioned trampoline. What would that mean?

[–]soccer_maniacScholsey 2ポイント3ポイント  (1子コメント)

Dreaming about rats? What is she, a scouser?

Well if a mouse means death, a rat must be like genocide

I think your housemate is worried about his cousin. Nothing more.

But what if it means that America should be worried about the results of all their nuclear arsenal coming back to haunt them, hint Godzilla. But they might bounce back? I think we need an experts opinion

[–]Allard1994Blind for Ballon d'Or[S] 1

So a mouse = death? Tell her she shouldnt dream about ravens then :P

Tell her that missing the first class of the semester brings bad luck

Haha my mother do this too. A couple of months ago she woke up in the night and ran to because she had a dream where her teeth fell off. She said that this means that something bad is going to happen.... Haha.

Is she Bulgarian too? My girlfriend has this all the time.

[–]SHOW_ME_YOUR_TIDDIES 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

You'll wanna slap me too then cos I had a dream spurs beat us 1 nil

If anything that's worse

You know a lot of psychologists think dream analysis is utter horse shit. Most modern theories on dreams are around how it's back logged processing your brain does that it wasn't able to do during the day as there is simply too much to process. There are also theories that it is rehearsal, I.e we play out scenarios in our dreams to see how we would deal with or manage the situation.

Edit; admittedly dreams are still debated with the reasoning behind them still unknown but most researchers agree that Freud and jungs theories were wrong

I know it's horseshit but the missus is from Bulgaria and they believe in all kinds of random bollocks like being visited by dead relatives in dreams, or that tea leaves and coffee grinds can predict the future. I love her to bits but the medieval mumbo jumbo really pisses me off.

Ah that makes sense it's hard to change the way you've thought about things your entire life. Can you prove to her through proof that her superstitions aren't valid?

It's not worth the fight. It's her culture and part of who she is. Confronting her with evidence to the contrary would work as well as it does with the religious or climate change deniers.

Guess we need a trip to the tunnel of tolerance to learn to tolerate others cultural beliefs

[–]Allard1994Blind for Ballon d'Or[S] 0

Does she do wolololo too?

My ex used to get mad at me because I cheated on her in her dreams sometimes. She was crazy.

I'm done with Arrow...

[–]doesnt_like_pantsHerrera 1ポイント2ポイント  (4子コメント)

As in over it or up to date?

Over it. Cant enjoy it as much anymore.

[–]doesnt_like_pantsHerrera 0ポイント1ポイント  (2子コメント)

Have you tried The Flash?

The Flash is brilliant. Enjoy watching that compared to Arrow.

Erm... If he doesn't like arrow, he might not like the flash for it's more silly nature or so. But maybe he wants that so you're right, it's a bit different.

I can't binge watch them anymore now due to some writing making me mad at it.

Hahah glad I'm not the only one mate, I'm still mad about the latest episode

I quit after that Cupid episode. I can't believe my once favourite show got so awful .

I'm done with these similar shows pandering too much to the "make the girl irritating.... Then make the guy annoying. Then add romance. Then make them less annoying. Then make them unreasonably as annoying as Liverpool fans..."

Like... Flash. Arrow. Supergirl. Legends of tomorrow.

Then again, teens, fangirls and such like those tropes it seems.

I stopped watching legends of tomorrow after the 4th episode I think. Too many shows become too ridiculous.

Was watching charmed again a little while back and just found it ridiculous how annoying some of them can be with their selfish or self centred selfs.

Like.... Could they not write it better to exclude those dumb stuff? Super witches and all are a good thing and don't need those added craziness to make it appeal to all.

Sadly, even a "better show" like suits also started to get rubbish with some characters and all.

I'm trying to find some good shows to watch and it seems like the less episode ones are the best even if they aren't aplenty or my type for some perhaps. Oh well.

[–]doesnt_like_pantsHerrera 0ポイント1ポイント  (3子コメント)

Who do you want to win the golf?

[–]Pigeon_AssholeBlind's Sexy Hair 1

As a Northern Irishman, it has to be Rory but I have bets on Day, Spieth and Rose as well:)

Knew you were northern irish by the way you worded that haha. Great weekend for sports

[–]doesnt_like_pantsHerrera 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yeah for sure. As an Aussie I'm all for Day but I don't really have allegiances in golf. Would be happy with Day, Rory or Spieth. I sort of want Spieth to win it, he's such a magnificent player and has such a cool head for a young lad.

Don't forget the Boxing tomorrow!

how do you guys get out of a rut?

I mean when you have had 4 or 5 absolutely unproductive days and are feeling like shit how do you get back on track?

Go for a run, or a nice walk to clear your head. Do something different to get your mind off of shit

[–]Pint_Of_BitterIrwin 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

Exercise or alcohol but not at the same time.

Two glasses of wine before a long run is great.

I'm wondering about the same thing. Any help would be great.

What I generally used to do was hit the gym, take a shower, and then sit down to do some work. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...

[–]Allard1994Blind for Ballon d'Or[S] 1

I sometimes write an article about football matches that I watched. In those I review the match etc. Just for myself to get better at it. I let my parents and friends read it and they judge the article.

My point is, try and find something you have an interest in and do something with it that helps you either develop or pass time in a positive way.

i suffer from depression and some days just getting up having a shower shaving and putting on some nice clothes can make you feel 10 times better.

I find doing some cleaning around the house helps too for some reason i just feel like im doing something useful i guess.

The last few days, I've had a bad bout of depression. Suffering with it for as long as I have over the years, you'd expect me to know how to cope.

I do, I just chose not to and here i have been, sat in my pyjama pants in the office once again.

Lots of people do different things that might not suit you specifically. The only key attribute it should have is that you should do something that will benefit you beyond that moment.

For example I work out and then come home and cook. My body feels great having being exercised and then when I cook something good I know I've given it the best possible fuel to keep that and build on it. Then I find it easy to relax for the rest of the night and I even feel great the next day.

Working out isn't for everyone though so there's no point in it if you don't enjoy it. Just do something that you enjoy that will also benefit you tomorrow!

Walking in the rain helps a lot. But that's just me.

Over the final two years of my time at uni (5 years) I've had a few panic attacks due to stress and I had a mini one last night. I graduate at the end of June and it can't come soon enough! Then it's off to south-east Asia. Anyone been there with places to suggest in Vietnam, Cambodia or Hong Kong?

If you can, come and visit Malaysia (I'm from there)! Not as fun in terms of tourism to Cambodia/Vietnam to be honest but I think our food is by far the best in the whole southeast region

[–]soccer_maniacScholsey 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

Genting Highlands is a must see. I was there about 10 years ago, good experience.

I think the theme park is closed for renovation

I still dream of the food in Malaysia (Penang was a highlight!).

[–]doesnt_like_pantsHerrera 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

If you can get there then go to Laos, specifically Luang Prabang. There's a world heritage site around there with some of the most stunning waterfalls. The locals are lovely as well, there's drunken bowling and a brilliant bar that backpackers congregate at. Just a wonderful place. You might hear about Vang Vieng which used to be home to the drinking river where you float along in tyres and stop at riverside bars and get fucked up but it's dead now. Lots of tourist got injured and a few died and the local police cracked down on it. Really not worth going to now.

Phnom Penh isn't too much to rave about itself but Angkor Wat is unforgettable. Definitely go for the sunrise! The killing fields will haunt me forever and it's a really humbling experience. There's also a few places to try a weed pizza if you're into that stuff, shit is potent AF. I also went to Sihanoukville, I had fun but it was mostly for partygoers, not much to do there except for drink and relax on the beach.

Vietnam, I only went to Ho Chi Minh and it was wonderful chaos, so much to do there. Also picked up a suit which has lasted me 3 years and was beautifully tailored but I went to one of the more reputable stores and paid quite a lot (by most standards). The best place for tailoring is Hoi An from what I hear.

Me and my GF was nearly killed in Laos in a car crash (had to be airlifted to Bangkok) but would 100% go back it is an amazing country!

I have been to both, Vietnam and Cambodia as well as the vast majority of SE Asia travelling, i think your best bet is to look on trip advisor as there are thousands of reviews for everything (just remember to take some of the reviews with a pinch of salt). Ha Long Bay and Hoi An are fantastic as well as Ankor Wat (avoid giving money to beggers, most of them are children and they will follow you everywhere). If you have any other questions feel free to PM me or ask me here.

Anyone been watching that The People vs OJ Simpson trial TV show with John Travolta and Cuba Gooding jr? I just finished it and it was great! I wasn't old enough to really follow the case when it happened, but the show was superb and really shows how they managed to get him off with it

It really is fantastic! highly recommended! Travoltas face looks a mess!

American crime story? Keep meaning to watch it. Its done by the same people who did American horror story.

[–]Zvcx 1

Its depressing how much Liverpool have improved under Klopp. Their squad isnt up to scratch but theyre playing some great football. The game against Spurs last week was brilliant.

Then again, they are 9th with 4 wins in the last 10 games.

Playing style may have improved but they're still incredibly inconsistent.

[–]Zvcx 0

Thats true. I'd just love to see us play some high tempo football.

Went to watch the U21s this week and the slow mentality of the first team has rubbed off on them too. The first half was practically played at walking pace.

Aye, I do know what you mean. It can get frustrating watching us at times.

Couldn't get to Old Trafford myself as I was working up to the first half but I caught the second half online and it seemed they were doing alright, pressing a lot more, but that might have been a result of chasing a goal.

They are incredibly inconsistent, they look like they have made progress in one match and look mid table the next. Although i feel that will be solved when Klopp has his own players. He had a worse win % than Rodgers not too long ago (might still be the case).

Strongly considering moving to Dubai. Getting tired of living at home and I have a few friends that went there and love it. Anybody here live/lived there that could give me any insight?

Was thinking about maybe going over the summer to check the place out better, but would it be crazy hot to go during the summer months?

[–]Zvcx 1

If you're from the UK, below 30, and looking for a change of scenery I'd suggest making the most of the commonwealth and going to Australia/New Zealand/Canada. You can get a years working visa, zero hassle, just apply and get it. You get the sun and much more freedom.

Its always summer there.

Only go during the summer if you're okay with weather that's around 40-50°C

Has anyone done the Institute of Leadership and Management course on level 3, 4 or 5? If so how good is it and is it difficult?

[–]Pigeon_AssholeBlind's Sexy Hair 0

I have done the ILM Level 3 course. Did it through work. Was an enjoyable course but hasn't really helped me too much, maybe gave me a bit more confidence but mainly its just been something to add to my CV.

Been playing fifa again recently, it's pretty unrealistic... Arsenal just bought Pogba for £70 million

[–]Allard1994Blind for Ballon d'Or[S] 0

Yeah the game has presets for transfers that happen. Lacazette to us, Muller to City, Aguero to Bayern, Alaba to Juve, Verratti/Pogba to Arsenal, Robben to PSG.

Pretty dissapointing if you ask me.

[–]Cupid_SpringbourneMemphis 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

I'm just surprised they spent that much

I ended up selling Fifa and getting PES as i was getting fed up with the rubber-banding the game has (you can boss a game 2-0 but they will always score stupid goals to make the game more "interesting") i feel when you get past the interface the core game is vastly better!

[–]Cupid_SpringbourneMemphis 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yeah ihad that yesterday, 2-0 against Bournemouth, defencive mode and they still end up scoring two Bellshill goals

Someone got me a bonsai tree this week, didn't know it takes this much effort to maintain! I'm quite enjoying it though.

Started jogging again after the weather got warmer, feels so good to run outside. Gyms can be such a downer at times, they just feel so lifeless and dark.

The place I've done some work for recently has suddenly upped sticks. I haven't been paid for it yet and it looks as though I won't unless I can hunt them down and send the heavies.

This means the rent is late. The letting agent hasn't said a word so far though so I think I've got lucky.

I wouldn't mind but I'm now stuck in the house as we have £150 to pay bills and actually live.

Might just spend it at the bookies or get 150 £1 scratchcards.
