To be fair, it is a subreddit dedicated to nothing but rape news articles. Even without the comment sections, which I haven't read yet, you have to be honest, you have to admit that would be kind of shocking to the average redditor.

When reddit quarantines a sub, they are actively trying to kill it. I need email verification to view this subreddit that discusses news articles (going so far as to ban racial slurs, etc.), but I don't have any trouble accessing /r/ProlapseVille. I'm not even warned of "shocking content" when I go to a sub full of rectal prolapses.

They have no excuse here. They're attempting to curb discussion of sexual assault and other crimes related to the migrant crisis in Europe.

Your argument is that due to the "shock" value that /r/rapefugees would cause in the minds of the casual redditor, given that the only subject matter is the tracking of sexual crimes, is a solid enough reason to have it banned. I don't understand how my question is unfair.

Also, to make certain: This concept of bigotry being used to justify the subreddit's quarantining is ludicrous. A significant increase in sexual crime has been seen in Europe and it is directly linked to and is, as matter of fact, perpetrated by migrants, in brazen, bizarre and brutal ways. The lack of security measures, the leftist manipulation of politicians and the corruption of mass media has caused understandable outrage, especially as regular folks are decried for mentioning any number of problems with the way this whole shitshow has gone down.

Basically, Reddit is super liberal, and has proven time and time again that it has an agenda. This is another one of those instances, and it's a shame.

My "argument" is that you all understand perfectly well why that subreddit was quarantined (it wasn't banned, dipshit). I've worked with moderators of the subreddit before, making subreddits for the express purpose of seeing what it takes to get quarantined.

My "argument" is that you all are dishonest, whiny fucks. I imagine the moderators there were waiting for it to catch a Q, cheered when it did, and all you social justice internet culture warriors are circlequeefingjerking about this awesome victory of positive proof of oppression censorship.

Note: Most SJWs are in favor of speech suppression. That's not what's happening here. You can be as cute as you want, but that isn't the difference maker. This is about being honest, and acting in good faith. There are many people who would readily begin moving away from Reddit were there a reasonable alternative, and mind you, there soon will be. Voat really fucked up.

And in the inverse way this little side of the internet culture war is, they seem to advocate shouting fire in a crowded theatre. For lawlz, of course. Because they are all epic trollololols.

Voat fucked up by getting overrun by "race realists" and the people who exist only to be douchebags. Not to mention a lot of what voat did to "combat the power mod menace" didn't really do shit other than restrict similarly themed subs from sharing moderators. People look at number of subs modded but refuse to look at the actual number of users that mod serves.

I agree that Voat is not a viable alternative. I found one way back and bookmarked it. More than willing to toss it your way when I get home.

Voat fucked up by not having proper servers to handle the load and didn't invest in them in time, which is pathetic, and it wasn't just assholes who wanted to hate on fat people and anything other than pure aryan blood, it was users like me who just didn't like how manipulated news stories were and are here in terms of what is and is not permitted, and in terms of who gets a pass and who does not. If everyone is equal, so too should be the criticism. If someone wants to be super racist about something, let them. They'll just get downvoted.

I like Reddit, and I think it's interesting that it has found itself unconcerned with the unfortunate facts surrounding the migrant crisis, and more concerned with the language used to direct towards it -much like Berlin.

What is it that you found? I didn't understand that.
