This is why you have to look both ways. I've nearly been run over several times as a pedestrian while crossing one-way intersections because drivers were only looking one way before turning onto a road. You are required to look in every direction. It's not just cars out there. There are also a lot of two-way access roads in Texas so mistakes like this are pretty common. Next time pay better attention to your surroundings. I've nearly been run over very close to this spot because of drivers not paying attention. Both of you were in the wrong here.

I agree with everything you say except the last sentence. I was in a car, pulling on to a 2?3? one direction access lane, parallel to I-35. There was no realistic expectation that a car would be coming from the other, wrong, direction. It's hard enough to merge without checking the other direction too. Do we have to look out for falling drones now too? But thanks for your response.

I would think that if you only learned one thing today it would be that there is a very real expectation of a car coming the opposite direction. The fact that you were trying to enter the highway from that particular intersection at that time of day shows poor judgement in itself. Pedestrians still have the right of way too and yes, you have an obligation to check both ways for us too. The last guy who failed to look both ways when I was trying to cross the street has spent the last two years in jail for what he did to me. I guess that's what it's going to take for you to learn your lesson too.

This is like saying it's your fault for getting hit because you didn't make eye contact with the driver before crossing in front his vehicle.

Ugh, you're insufferable.

Yes, I'm so horrible not to want to be killed by stupid people. How much effort does it really take to look before pulling through an intersection? If you're that lazy, take the bus. You get your own personal driver for $1.25 and if he wrecks, you don't have to pay for the damage or the ticket.

You're horrible because you seem to think this is your opportunity to stand up and lecture everyone like some kind of goddamned high school driving instructor. I'm guessing you don't get invited out much....

Nope, just trying to educate one person. And sorry to dissapoint but I've got a pretty good social life. Only on Reddit to gather evidence for an upcoming legal case. People confess to way too much shit when they think they are anonymous, this forum is doing great things for my career as an investigator. Have to cover my tracks by engaging in random conversations with idiots. You people are pretty hysterical though, the internet tough guy regiment.

Like my grandfather told me in regards to driving, "The laws of physics don't give two shits about the laws of man."

Oh, so you're just a scumbag then. After this response, it almost feels like you are goading this person into admitting some level of responsibility in a public forum so that the insurance company can use it to deny her claim.

Wow, you got some issues there. OP only has liability insurance and was in a one car accident. Insurance was never going to pay no matter what. Seriously though, seek professional help immediately.
