I never once suggested equal blame, so stop trying to put words in my mouth. I'm perfectly capable of speaking for myself. There is never an equal amount of blame in accidents but that doesn't exonerate one party. The fact remains though that the accident never would have happened if he had looked both ways. That makes him responsible. Period. The other driver isn't here so the conversation isn't directed at him. This is why cops don't investigate most traffic accidents. No one wants to take any responsibility for their role in things. We all want to blame the other guy entirely and never learn anything from these experiences. If you look at this intersection though, you'll see how reckless it is to try and get on the interstate from here. The only way to do it is to peel out from a stop and gun it across three lanes of traffic (illegal). I've done it many times here, so allow me to lead by example. Yes, if I had an accident doing it, that would have been my fault too. Yet, the OP wants to act like an innocent victim here? I don't know when our society reached a point where absolutely no one will ever even partially accept responsible for their own actions, but it's time for that to stop. He made a mistake. The other guy made a mistake. They both need to learn from it and own up to it. If he was looking for someone to coddle him, he should have called his mother. My job is to educate.
