Wolfsburg are absolutely dismantling Madrid right now. PSV went toe to toe with Atletico. Were we less shit than results suggest in Europe? (self.reddevils)

I feel like an injury ravaged, fatigued squad actually did alright in the CL now that my LvGout rage has subsided.

Still Mourinho in blahblah but we were nowhere near as bad as Real Madrid are tonight.

The problem is we could've won those games. It's not like Wolfsburg played brilliant football to beat us. We had serious lapses in those games and were sorely lacking in quality. The second loss to Wolfsburg was unforgivable imo. But even worse was the 0-0 against psv. Going out with 8 points does show a bit of bad luck, but by no means did we deserve to go trough playing the way we did.

Also why are you forgetting our joke of a performance against our biggest rivals Liverpool over two legs, and the pathetic disgraceful 2-1 loss to FC Midjteland who barely played a competitive match in 2 months... Pretty convenient how you forgot those. Then again LVG disciples don't use facts or logic when sucking their master off, it's always excuses and alternate realities with them.

We're basing it on the other teams in our groups performances in Europe. Which were exceptional. So one can infer it was not as easy a group as it was made out to be if they took Atleti to penaltys and are currently beating Real Madrid among other games.

The most frustrating thing was we totally dominated PSV and they still beat us with 2 jammy goals.

I never thought PSV looked competent against us, we were undone by our own lethargy.

Atleast Wolfsburg was dangerous and kept tearing us apart. That match was a proper end to end affair and a bit like when LvG's Bayern beat us 3-2. Evenly matched but we were a little worse.

Considering how pathetic our net summer spend was, how many injuries we've had I can sort of see it being an almost acceptable result.

I think we have been worse in the league than we were in CL for sure but we still underperformed and our woes go beyond results. The football has been shit. Just not pleasant to watch and i'm sorry but that's the whole point isn't it?

Also we shouldn't compare ourselves to anyone. We can all see things aren't great in our own camp and it's no secret that Real are having a shit season by their standards too. I can't think of any games this year in CL where I thought we deserved more. All those games were so agonisingly winnable. We never got raped like Real just did, but we did fuck all chance wise either.

We've always had horrid luck with injuries and It's something that managers need to account for. I'm all for keeping squad small(ish) but the cuts we made have turned out to be an error from the manager. Not regarding the players that left but the fact that they weren't sufficiently replaced. Smalling and Blind made up one of the strongest defences at the beginning of the season. Problems is, We needed another CB and manager didn't deliver. Now they are both burning out from overuse. Same goes for most of our regulars.
