If Anthony Martial hadn't rocked up to Old Trafford for what seemed like a highly inflated price on the last day of the summer transfer window then there would have been even less for United's fans to cheer about this season. But after settling in so well who is his best mate at the Theatre of Dreams?
The former Monaco forward has easily been United's most exciting player this season, although admittedly his competition is another teenager who hadn't even made his under 21 debut at the beginning of the season, and LvG has relied heavily on his signing.
The Frenchman revealed who his best mates at the club are and it might upset some Red Devil fans knowing that he likes having Fellaini around. When asked who his best mates in the squad are he answered saying:
"Schneiderlin and Fellaini. At first, I took English lessons, but because we played every three days, I stopped. It's fine, though, I'm getting better and better at it, hearing it and speaking it all the time."
Not that it would ever come down to this but would United fans keep Fellaini in the team if it meant Martial sticking around longer?
The Frenchman, who made his debut for the national side the same day he signed for the Premier League club, also heaped praise on his fellow teammate Marcus Rashford saying: "He's played really well, and already has five goals. I'm happy for him. When I played as a nine, sometimes I didn't score. I hope Marcus will continue to score and help us win."
Life at Old Trafford without Martial would have been a very bleak place this season!
