Someone tried that at one point with the Game of Thrones mod, but it didn't go very far and wasn't that interesting. Someone has yet to utilize Trump's meme potential to its true extent in CK2.

Racism is a large part of why people in these kinds of neighborhoods are poor, and a distrust of authority bred in part by systematic and ongoing racism is a part of why it is difficult to tackle crime on the local level.

Culture and education, not having laws that make it very difficult to go after people making illegal gun sales, take your pick.

The equivalent of the Protestant Reformation is what created this current spat of violence. The Wahabbis and Salaffists are the equivalent of the Protestants: people who view the old order as decadent and out of touch with the religion developing a more fundamentalist view and attacking the people who practice the religion in the old way, with the new people frequently enacting their new faith through the application of violence.

People who talk about the need for a reformation do not understand either Islamic practice or the Protestant Reformation.

You don't need legacy of Rome, Sunset invasion, or Rajas of India, and I'm not sure if Charlemagne did anything for them, all other expansions have some elements in the mod. I've never bought conclave, and am operating on the last build, which is still quite good.

Edit: also not sure if they did anything with way of life. They still use their old duel system.

Also I would say that the game is worthwhile without the game of thrones mod. Base game has a more dynamic feel in some cases. Also check out After the End, post-apocalyptic America mod, it's fun.

"History was gathering itself to deliver another blow.

Still the darkness thrummed at them, the blank enclosing darkess. It seemed closer and closer, thicker and thicker, heavier and heavier. And suddenly it was gone.

They flew out of the cloud.

They saw the staggering jewels of the night in their infinite dust and their minds sang with fear.

For a while they flew on, motionless against the starry sweep of the Galaxy, itself motionless against the infinite sweep of the Universe. And then they turned round.

"It'll have to go," the men of Krikkit said as they headed back for home.

On the way back they sang a number of tuneful and reflective songs on the subjects of peace, justice, morality, culture, sport, familiy life and the obliteration of all other life forms."

What "problem" risks getting out of hand by us reevaluating our approach to foreign policy? How are we damaging our society by looking at our past and saying that we have done things that weren't a good idea, and maybe (radical thought) punishing people who broke the law during those actions? Because as I see it the problem is pretending that the last decade and a half didn't happen and looking at the world as the same black and white existential threat that weasels like Blair did when he was in power.

Oh and as for Arab countries, many of the people there are so self-critiquing that they overthrew their governments in the last few years because they didn't like the direction they were going.

Moreover, much of the shit storm that ensued after the invasion was sectarian violence and brewing Islamism/Jihadism. Iraq did not exactly act like Japan after WW2.

You say that like its something that was just inevitable. The civil war happened in large part due to the policies of the occupation. The division of the country along religious and ethnic lines directly contributed to sectarianism and the chaos of debaathification directly bolstered the fairly negligible Iraqi jihadism by giving the army a strong interest in joining anti-western forces.

...which was possible thanks to the toppling of Saddam's government and the chaotic de-Baathification resulting from the invasion of Iraq. You can't ignore the role the invasion played in building up jihadism in Iraq and spurring civil war.

Exactly where the fuck do we feel sorry for our enemies? The primary response to terrorism in the west has been bombing and invasion. Those that say bombing and invasion aren't the best strategy are called soft on terrorism. I have never seen someone bemoaning our treatment of actual terrorists, only people castigated for making a distinction between terrorists and people who share their skin color.
