I disagree that this sort of humor can't be funny. Like any sort of insensitive joke it's only ok in very very specific social circumstances. With random people on the internet isn't one of them, and it is usually prudent to assume that it's not appropriate by default.

In 2015 there are 2 recorded hate crime murders of LGBT people on Wikipedia. Gay people aren't killed daily. It was a comic from /co/ they don't take anything seriously. This is like when people censor CAH instead of just playing Apples to Apples. Don't go to /co/ if you're easily offended.

Oh? That's worldwide? That includes everywhere outside of the US? That includes hate crime beatings? How about refusals of employment? Refusals of insurance? Refusals of adoption? Threats? Stalkings? Abuse? Sexual abuse? Rape? Disownings?

I consider "satire" that relies on violence that happens to marginalized people all the time IRL not satire at all, and thoughtless+bad.

To use an example from a friend, "A Modest Proposal wouldn't have been satire if they were already eating children."

Shock humor =/= satire.

And even if it was satire, what is it satiring and how? Because if it's satiring hating gay people by making a comic hateful toward gay people, the satire fails because your just going the thing with no changes. If it's meant to be a satire on how Fay Homestuck is, how does killing everyone in any way deconstruct or rexamine it?

It's fucking 4chan. Their whole thing is shock humor. Not everyone on 4chan is a racist, but the ones who aren't pretend to be because it's funny. It's funny because the idea of John being a violent homophobe is opposite to the expectation that he's normally a chill dude.
