Who would you buy/sell next window? (self.reddevils)

This post is out of pure curiosity to what some of the fans' think should happen next transfer window. I know there's a ton of opinions and strategy on every other post to "sell Fellaini" and "buy a world-class striker", but I thought it would be interesting to have a post dedicated to it. If you were given the spot as next manager with the ~100m budget that is said to be granted LVG next season, what would you do?

Without question, my priority buy would be Ousmane Dembele. I believe his impact would dwarf any other transactions.

assuming that dembele will be anything like martial is stupid. martial was the exception to the rule, young players are usually wildly inconsistent esp in this league and we already have a good backbone of youth in this side. what we need now is experience through world class players, not prioritizing and gambling on teenagers

He plays in the exact same position that Memphis and Martial plays in. He's also never performed at the top level like Martial (champions league) and he'll cost the same/more than Martial. Huge risk.

Agreed he's a monster, he's a pure winger unlike Martial who has the strength to play 9 but his technical ability is incredible, possibly the best player his age ever in the French league.

Sell: Fellaini.

BUY: Lukaku, Mahrez/ Payet and an old CB.

Use TFM more as a CDM/ CB/ RB

All of those will cost £50m each at least after this season, and Payet turns 30 next season.

None of them are replacements for the Fellaini you're selling.

Leicester will get dismanteled by the big boy unfortunately.. no question about it. They will probably win the league and they will lose (at least one of) Mahrez, Vardy and Kante. And the picking will continue until they lose all their star players, that's how the League works. Happened to Southampton about 3 seasons ago (Aston Villa before, Spurs many times, etc...), and it will happen to Leicester.

To be fair, I can only see Mahrez and Kante going to the bigger clubs. Other than that their team don't really have 'star players' other than Vardy (who I think will stay due to clubs reluctance paying a fee for a 29/30 year old).

There is no way in hell.

There is a very real chance of this happening. He will be playing Champions League football with Leicester, good for him. I'm sure he looks forward to going out in the group stages.

Right now, he wouldn't look out of place in any side worldwide and as impressive as Leicester have been, they are hardly the pinnacle of world football, he didn't even know who they were three seasons ago. If Mahrez wants to achieve anything significant next year, he'll move.

In the correct system and with some consistent minutes under his belt, I don't see why Memphis couldn't be hitting 15 a season. We potentially already have the goals in our squad but we don't know because we play a system that doesn't favor attacking players like Memphis.

We spent an awful lot of money on Martial to play up top and a lesser but still fairly considerable amount on Memphis. It baffles me how quick people are to bin Memphis and play Martial out of his preferred position (not saying you are) just to spunk a ridiculous sum of money on another young player who also isn't quite there yet (Lukaku).

Recently we've been far too reliant on our striker. Look at the teams we've fielded over the past 4 or 5 seasons. All top teams have 3 or 4 goalscorers in their side and we've not had more than 1 (sometimes 2) players you could rely on to hit over 10 league goals. Players like Memphis, James, Mahrez would solve this problem.

We desperately need goalscorers but we don't need another striker IMO, not unless we change system and play 2 up top.

Sell no one. Buy Leroy Sane (can't think of another right winger of the top of my head) , John Stones and Kroos. It'll be over 100m but I think we need it after the shit show of this season. Would like a striker but fuck it, rotate Rashford and Martial.

Also right wing and centre back should have been sorted out 2 seasons a go which pisses me off. Sort it out United lads.

Fair enough i guess it could be good to stay away considering the high fee i just couldn't think of anyone else possibly Dembele? But I do think Sane would lock down the RM position and improve us, ideally it would be Mahrez.

One starter per line. Stones for the English core and the chemistry with Smalling, the other 2 for their pure talent.

Our squad is already bare. Wouldn't sell.

Buy = Verratti/Rabiot to partner Schneiderlin in Central Midfield.

I've felt for a long time we need an RW/FW: I would rather see us develop a front 3 of Memphis-Martial-Rashford. Any good RW today would be expensive, whether it's Griezemann, James or Reus: and I think the three we have already have great potential if supported by a no-nonsense midfield.

On the one hand, we also need to strengthen our defense, but I'd want the kids to get a chance here too. Varela, BoJack, Fosu-Mensah all deserve a run in the first team: and that's not even counting Shaw who's been out for so long.
