It's terrifying to think that Vince believes Bray and the Family are at the level or even the intimidation factor of Undertaker, yet they haven't had a chance to win any major feuds or even follow through on a single credible threat. They were RED HOT when they were against the Shield, and Bray dominated the feud with Ambrose, and won a great match against Daniel Bryan at the 2014 Rumble, but everything else has seen the family annihilated. As a fan, I hate the way they are booked so much that I'm actually more frustrated with that than with Reigns winning the title.

However I will spit my take on superfans. I really dislike them. I dont think they are productive members of the wrestling community and they reek of privilege. I love this question. I think part timers are very needed now - someone like Brock booked correctly looks like a monster and does not suffer from over exposure. Cena / Orton are going to hit this level within a few years where they wont appear on TV for nine months and then challenge someone for two months. I think the midcard will be fine though, NXT is going to do wonders for that.

I think the idea is the main roster is still controlled by Vince and at the end of the day he is the one giving the hall pass onto the main stage. NXT has given WWE and more specifically HHH a really good ground to snatch up talent that they feel the main roster should have and let them build a US portfolio before bringing them up.
Im just speculating though. Vince might be / probably is clueless.

Kind of. I think some of the matches didnt deliver as well as they could have. Dean apparently was fighting for harder stuff to be introduced during the match and they just never pushed it through. I think it really took away from the brutality of it. I personally thought Ambrose vs Reigns months back looked way more brutal for Ambrose.
I digress though, I really enjoyed most of mania. I know people had their issues with it but I think it did alot of things really well (and some things obviously not so well.)

Problem is nothing ever sticks as the attention is focused (and should be focused) on Charlotte / Becky / Sasha as the Women's title comes more into focus. Do you think Vince is as "out of touch" as some members of the IWC think he is?
Personally, I always compare NXT to Raw. In NXT, the storylines have storytelling with actual payoffs, character development, and less squash matches (due to commentary [NXT commentary is also better IMO] putting over the loser). The only time it's a true squash in my opinion is when they have the local wrestlers in a match. I find these qualities few and far between on the main roster.
Last night's mania, for me personally, sucked. The only parts I enjoyed were the ladder match, women's match (hate the winner though), Shane/Taker, and the ARMBAR winner. Everything else was pretty bland and unenjoyable for me. For sake of spoilers, I won't talk about my thoughts on the outcomes of the rest of the card.
But then I look at the video "This Is Awesome 2015" that shows all the amazing things that happened on the main roster during the year. It shows nearly all the parts where I was genuinely interested in what was happening on raw/ppv/etc, moments where I can see why I love this business. It seems as if Vince can make an amazing show when he wants to, but more often then not, RAW is bland. I watch every week regardless of if you post spoilers, but I always enjoy what you bring to r/SC. Those spoilers make me look forward to Raw instead of just dreading having to pay attention to 3 hours of nonsense at times.
To sum it all up, what is your take on Vince being "out of touch"?

What exactly were you referring to? As of last night, many of the "young/up and coming" wrestlers were not elevated - in some situations I'd say certain people got devalued. Dean Ambrose looked way, way weaker than he should have, the New Day lost to a team of heels no one cares about at the height of their popularity, and the Wyatt family got legitimately buried by The Rock. I hate the overuse of that term in the IWC, but that was a downright and utter burial.
I don't see anyone who can effectively run with the proverbial ball, because it does not seem like anyone was given a ball to run with.

When I said run with the ball I meant that in reference to people who I liked winning or in the spots that they were in. They are doing things with Corbin and giving him a big opening win to start things off. Charlotte is still champion and I think that totally works, she will be a fantastic heel champion and I think they will save the Sasha spot for Summerslam in a one on one. The Sami vs Owens spot sold big and got the crowd hot. I speak of those things, there are alot of people right now who can carry the ball going forward and I thought Mania did an OK job of highlighting them.
However was I disappointed in some of the mania spots? Of course.

Honestly, I just like being a part of the community that can cause a little conversation. While I don't totally disagree with you, Shane/Taker was not "Rock Hogan" or "Taker HBK". It was (to me of course) a meh match with a big spot at the end, and an ending where a guy we like won but the stips meant nothing changes and everything stays the same. The problems with 18 and 25 were partly the booking and partly a much bigger match that people cared about way more being in shortly before. The problem with this was pretty much all booking; Hell in a Cell had no real effect on anything.

As a fan who stopped watching wrestling around 2003 at the age of 13 and returned to the product last summer, this was my first time being able to watch a WM.
With the exception of Ryder winning the ladder match, everything about this show was just the status quo. They debut the women's title only to taint an otherwise great match with interference from Ric Flair - literally no payoff for the feud. AJ Styles, a guy who should be a new star in this company, loses to an on again off again part timer. Dean Ambrose, a man booked as a lunatic capable of taking insane punishment, loses in like 11 minutes in what was a boring no DQ match despite being billed as a crazy street fight. Shane loses to taker and no one on the roster interferes in a match that has implications on their career since Shane would theoretically take control of raw. Roman Reigns is now a 3 time champ in the span of 6 months.
Literally everything about this seems like it was just another PPV. No meaningful stories have been wrapped up. No meaningful stories have been created. So my question is this - Is there any kind of swerve coming tonight? Is there any reason why I should continue watching every week? Or is it just going to be another year of 20 minute authority promos trying to get Reigns over as a face while doing everything they can to bury every other face on the roster?

I am obviously not FA, but Kevin Dunn is the executive producer of WWE programming. So Kevin Dunn gets the brunt of the blame for shoddy TV production (i.e. shaky cam). BUT he has gotten a lot of the blame for how the women were portrayed for a while. The trail of over-sexualizing the women led back to him many times.

Do WWE honestly not get it? Like, when they're sat there turning down mics and turning up fireworks to create their own narrative, how is nobody backstage telling them (IE Cena or someone else likely to be hear do). How is it logical for them to go against what the fans are constantly telling them? Especially when they've had Shane on TV 2 weeks ago openly laying out the EXACT problems with the company? It seems to me at this point it either has to be some huge long term master planning for a revolution, or WWE has just decided to stop caring. So frustrating as a long time fan.

I was so hyped about this year because, somehow, I just knew regardless of outcome, participants on any match below the main event in the card were going to kill themselves to steal the show. But for some reason...that just never materialized. I just didn't see that mentality of "I'm going to one up every other match" in any of those participants (besides Sami Zayn, and the women's triple threat) like I did last year.

This is just an opinion and I know it never could have happened but the match that had the best story and build up and the potential to be the best on the card last night was the triple threat between Becky, Sasha and Charlotte. Given the spike in attention to the women's division it would have been really cool, especially in a year with so many injuries to have them as the last match. I know this could never happen, but for a different pay per view could this ever happen. they did it for a takeover, we know they can go, it would be really cool. Is this something possible and is it something you would like to see?

It's cool. Conor's been setting records across the board in the last year. UFC 197 broke their PPV and gate records, not to mention he got the highest payout of all time despite losing. He's the 145 pound champion of the world, their poster boy, STILL the keyholder for some mouth watering superfights and probably doesn't wanna leave a company where he is massively responsible for a renewed boom period.
However, watching through his press conferences, he seems to have some knowledge of WWE, quoting The Rock ("know your role..") in a presser and asking if Jonathan Coachman was "that guy from the wrestling" during his post fight with Aldo. The guy is motivated by "movement and money" so a Rousey-esque appearance down the line wouldn't be surprising, but only for the right price, and I couldn't imagine that being in a wrestling role. I could be wrong, though.

What's the deal with Gargano, Ciampa, and Roode? Supposedly WWE gets the first dibs on dates with them, but are they also doing this as a way to test these guys before signing them full-time? And if not, why are they making these deals?

Question: Are the writers all basically pitching ideas for any show or do certain guys work on stuff for particular wrestlers?
There is so much TV yet everything revolves around main story and mid or upper mid card matches/feuds don't get fleshed out
I always thought writers being assigned to write for each belt would be good. Workable?
Just seems like all the work goes into the main angle but I always read there are so many writers ... how can there appear to be so little attention on non-main angle stuff??
