This MPR article talks about an (in my opinion) interesting and positive approach to the issue of teaching people about consent. I particularly like the framing of consent in terms of improving the experience of all participants, as in the following quote:

In a world where sex education is often basic, and porn is everywhere, author Christa Desir wants young adult fiction to be a place where kids can find answers and also questions about consensual sex. "What do you want? What's pleasurable for you?" she asks. "And what's pleasurable for your partner? And how can you be intimate and it not be awkward?"

Far too often it feels like the message we're conveying is that consent is only about one's partner. It is refreshing to see a more exploratory approach to consent that acknowledges the many mixed signals that exist in this area and helps boys in particular navigate them without feeling demonized.

This is a great article, OP!

I've been thinking a lot lately about how so many of our harmful ideas about gender and identity and sexuality come from the media we consume right from when we're children, and how all those are reinforced by family and school and society in general.

I was wondering what the community would like to see in the books they read or the movies they watch, and what they wish they'd had when they were younger.

Lots of content creators are breaking the mold when it comes to traditional tropes, and I think it's pretty great. :)
