Nah, more likely he played Herrera as he didn't play any international games, rotation is king with lvg.

Fellaini doesn't play nearly as much as people around here would have you believe. Herrera has played way more than him this season.

Well there are fewer injuries now and more players to chose from. So he has more than one option. His subs were fantastic on Sunday, which was good to see. Hopefully we can continue our good form against Tottenham this Sunday.

There was 0 reason to play Fellaini as nobody in evertons midfield was physical or anything like, same against city. He will continue to sub full backs mostly out of fear that the injury crisis in that position could continue.

Lets see what he does against spurs and then we'll see if he has changed. Spurs dont really have an imposing midfield so playing fellaini could be tempting as it is an Away game and he could bully most of the spurs players.

Spurs also press extremely hard so that wouldn't really work with fellaini

Actually thats when you really play fellaini as it gives you an option to lob the ball to him if you're being pressed. Ball goes from defense to attack faster thus neutralizing the pressing aspect of the spurs

Problem is we're not playing the 4-3-3 with advanced midfielders anymore, so if we play him in CM he's going to be too deep most of the time to really use him as a release. If he presses up we'll be really vulnerable in midfield unless someone else drops back. Unless we play him at 10 but I doubt that'd happen.

To be fair, look at where he ends up most of the time during games. He's the furthest midfielder and Carrick stays back most of the time. Unless you play him with schneiderlin there will be a hole back there as you say.

Fellaini always kicks out though

That or maybe the players are actually starting to learn how to play in his style.

I dunno while I am not fond of LVG and I would like to see Mourinho come in, I do think the players have a little to blame, they were pretty poor a few months ago. Whether thats LVG fault or not they can't hide from that. Hopefully now that injured players coming back and players like Rashford and Martial, even Herrea playing with smiles again we might go on a little run.

Might come all crashing down on sunday though.

Apologies for that wasn't planning on commenting! Can't delete cause I'm on mobile as well. SORRY

We are playing his style. Problem is his style is outdated and doesn't work.

They struggle with his tactics that's for sure, but we can take that risk again?James is leaving Madrid and Woodward will go for him because that's a top player transfer we need for our attack. Imagine us sticking with LVG for his "last" season and end up with struggling and benched James just like Di Maria.. On the other hand Mourinho is the type of Manager who can take the best out of his players instantly. I know he is not the type of manager who gives youth chances, but our youngsters are already part of the team and Jose has to change his rotation policy.

We will

We will crash or go on a little run? Here's hoping for a few big wins against West Ham and Tottenham for the final push

His obsession this season with Fellaini is beyond me, he used him in every midfield position even as a striker and that hoof thing, disgusting. I think he lost the job because of that and the fact he can't get the best out of his transfers the first season. Except from Martial, who's is freak of nature, all the other newcomers struggled with his tactics. I do believe though LVG was the ideal manager to deal United s mess back then but his job is done he just can't make it to the next step. So just like Barcelona and Bayern he will leave at least with us he will retire more gently.

He still has the job mate
