It wasnt a great performance by any means, but we are keeping the momentum going and thats important. Players are coming back from injuries as well, which makes me exicited for the remaining games.

Darmian LB, Fosu-Mensah RB

Darmian is okay at LB. Would prefer CBJ or Rojo there.

I dont care how we pick up 3 points now. Hope we win all of our remaining matches.

Agree. Is too late in to the season to start expecting fireworks or a different approach, just get the points.

I thought we were in for another 0-0 after a lackluster first half for both sides, but the subs made a key difference. Rojo in particular looked a step behind, so I expect he won't get the start on Sunday. It was a joy seeing Rashford, TFM, and Martial hook up for that goal though. Hopefully, we maintain our momentum and continue grinding out necessary results.

A somewhat realistic scenario would be drawing this weekend with Tottenham and hoping City do the same against West Brom. Then we can make up the one point different when we host Villa while City go to Stamford Bridge the following matchday.

We have a definite tendency to sit back and let the opponent control the game once we're 1 goal up. We did it against Chelsea, then against City and Everton, luckily for us it didn't bite us in the ass the last two times. But it's very worrying, because we've witnessed countless times this season that we are not able to get a last minute goal and push for a result, so if the opponent gets a late equalizer we're pretty much done for.

Despite his game against us, I think Lukaku could be the perfect fit for next seasons team.

I am torn on LVG. 1-0 wins when you're not playing well win you the league… in seasons where you've battered teams 5-0 and 7-1 when you're on form. We've only won three league games on the bounce once his season.

But having said that, if you'd told me 3rd or 4th and FA Cup final at the start of the season, I'd have taken it. We lost one of only two world class players this summer (ADM) and didn't strengthen as we should have.

Bit presumptuous about the final haha

I would take 3rd and win the FA cup but tbh that still isn't enough

[–]mufcirclejerk 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

Why wouldn't it be enough? It's progress. Moyes took us to 7th. LVG first season takes us to 4th. His second season takes us to 3rd and FA Cup final?

What would you take? 2nd in the league?

Its definitely progress and tbh I would take it, still ideally 2nd in the league would be better - tbh just a sustained challenge.

Even would take 3rd and no cup as long as we showed a clear progression in terms of our play...

People who want LvG to stay and believes he can turn it all around again. Please...

People are taking our performance way out of context and exaggerating how good we were. Everton played dire football, hoisting balls over to Lukaku, who had no support, the rest of the time they just parked the bus.

I'm sure if they actually attacked and pressed Carrick, we'd have seen a much different game. We may have won this match, but the war is far from over, Spurs are going to bring the game to us and then we will see how well we can deal with pressure.

Lukaku had a poor game tbh and we didn't acpitalise one of the weakest defences in the league

Interestingly I think we will fair better against spurs, we seem to play better against sides who leave spaces open.
