It's true Van Gaal hasn't done a "marvelous" job this season but Mourinho is worst! From a champion to relegation battle. So do you really think Mourinho could change it all around in one summer and get United to challenge for the title in his first year in the United job ? My Answer Is NO

Where do I start ? From Special One to Struggling One.

1- Negative Style Of Play

Park the Bus 4-2-3-1 Mourinho Style. There’s no guarantee that Mourinho’s methods work anymore. From a champion to relegation battle. Boring, boring Chelsea, probably the most boring football I've watched all season

2- Bad Record In The Transfer Market

Mourinho’s record is worse than most, particularly when you consider how much some of these players cost. Shevchenko, Khalid Boulahrouz, Tal Ben Haim, Asier del Horno, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Tiago, Filipe Luis, Jiri Jarosik, Mateja Kezman, Claudio Pizarro, Juan Cuadrado, Salah. It’s not just the players Mourinho buys, but the ones he decides to sell too. Arjen Robben, Kevin De Bruyne, Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku, Schurrle, Ryan Bertrand were all let go by Mourinho.

3- Lack Of Youth Development.

Mourinho does not value the club’s tradition of bringing through homegrown players, he compensates for it with his record for winning matches and trophies. He clearly has no interest in youth development, he'd rather buy

4- Looses The Dressing Room Wherever He Goes Because of His Ego

Johan Cruyff once said "It's always the same with him (Mourinho). When things are going well, it's the result of his good work, but the players are to blame when things are going badly. He already lost the dressing room at Real Madrid because of that and I can see the same happening at Chelsea."

5- He Doesn't Stay More Than 2/3 years

Mourinho has proved he can build a side but he has never rebuilt one, which tends to be a task for a third year. He has won the domestic league in his second year everywhere, but never in his third. This is his most acute case of third-season syndrome, but not the first. He simply can't find a way to stay at a club for the long term.

Every single fucking time we go on a run these threads pop up, I'll answer each of your points though in the interests of a debate:

1) Everyone who says this forgets that by far Chelsea were the best attacking side in the league at the start of last season, it was only the second half that Mourinho started grinding out results. And either way his style of play is NO WORSE THAN LVG's STYLE, hell even if it was Mourinho brings trophies and we need those,if it's a case of 3 years of boring football to avoid becoming Liverpool I'm fine with that.

2) I'm not familiar with some of those players and the circumstances around their departure but I know Lukaku wanted to leave despite Mou wanting to keep him, he couldn't hold him hostage. But let's also look at the positives around his transfer market, look at how he reinvented that Chelsea Squad 2 years ago? That was pretty fucking good right? He made them win the league for fucks sake.

3) Well he's here for three years at most. So abandoning that tradition for three years whilst it'll cost us many of our current prospects and whilst that'd suck if we win nothing in those three years we become unable to attract top players, youth can't compensate for that, we fall further down the league and end up Liverpool, we aren't in a position to be picky, even still I could see Mourinho's contract including something like he has to always have a youth player in the matchday squad, and due to all the complaints abut not playing youth I could see him throwing them into the Europa League or something he doesn't much care about winning, I do think he'll change somewhat for this club and play SOME youth, but not all that much. Besides when was the last time we had exceptional youth players anyways? Besides the Class of 92, sure we've brought some through since but up until recently we've really not had all that many AMAZING youth players come through anyways.

4) Whilst true, Mourinho isn't going to stay long anyways so it doesn't matter all that much IMO.

5) long term managers are mostly a thing of the past mate, very few will stick around at a club for a long time. Our side doesn't need rebuilding, it needs strengthening, LVG has done a fantastic job with that it is just on the pitch that he's failed.

I don't want LVG or Mourinho. I actually wanted Klopp before he went to Liverpool. Then i wanted Pep but Man City have him now. Then I said Conte and fuck sake Chelsea got him. Going at this rate, Arsenal are going to have Ranieri when Wenger retires.

Beside that let me preface my comments by stating that im neither on the lvg in/out or mourinho in party.

Mourinho doesnt necessarily have a negative stylr of play as he sets his team up to counter against big teams and attacking against lower teams. Even SAF did this. So this is not a good arguement against mourinho. I cant say "who cares how we play as long as we win" because I can't really go to games and this is more important to people who pay tickets to be entertained.

Your point about him not staying more that 2/3 years, other than wenger and SAF, which coach nowadays does? People wanted Pep and he leaves after 3 years. This stuff happens with allot of managers.

Bad transfer records in the past dont matter. LVG has had a really bad transfer record in his past but up untill now his transfer record at united has been great. At chelsea mourinho overhauled the Chelsea squad and made them title contenders. So as of late hes done well when it comes to transfers other than last year when Chelsea haedly bought any players to fix their squad problems.

When it comes to youth development, if he does come to united they can easily put a clause that he has to give debuts to X amounts of players and he should keep himself to that.

So what I'm saying. Keeping LvG has its merrits, and hiring mourinho also has its merrits, but who is to say either of them can pull it off.

What truly makes me laugh is that people keep referring to lvG's form this season whilst totally ignoring Mourinho's even worst run of form, when he had far less injuries lol.

Difference is Mourinho won the PL last season. LVG goal was to be a contender this season, and for next seasom to win. But guess what, we're back where we were last season. Fighting for 4th.. So no improvement whatsoever. Injuries have been key but the players dont look like they WANT to play during some of these losses. No fighting spirit.

Even Fergie said LvG deserves credit, fans must be patient. "You have to be realistic about some things – the number of injuries he has had: Phil Jones has played only seven games this season, Ashley Young, (Antonio) Valencia, (Luke) Shaw, these are big losses. To be fair, SAF needs to defend his signings so ofcourse he'll gives those players a shout. Yes, United fans have to be patient but heres the thing. 1. LVG set goals, as of now he hasnt met the one for this season. The injuries are unfortunate and some players have really underperformed, but with the squad that was fielded sometimes, united had no right losing to the lower placed clubs, and quite frankly looking pretty bad during those losses. Look at the win against arsenal. The players played with passion and never gave up. This with a squad that nobody thought could even hold up against arsenal. Thats what I mean.

The squad is there to be higher than where utd is right now. He made a promise and didnt keep it. As me and my brother say, let LvG field a whole team of youngsters, and he'll most likely have more success with that, than a squad of veterans.
