Forgotten Girls from RuPaul's Drag Race: Magnolia Crawford

"I though she looked like a swordfish"-Bianca Del Rio
Many of us remember Magnolia for her "swordfish" nose contour that Bianca coined in the first episode of season 6.She walked in with a zebra print throw and a slicked back Mohawk do and her style instantly confused me. She didn't shine during the mini challenged which involved posing in a bed with the pit crew, and I don't know how she managed to mess that up. During the walk though with Ru we started to see a snarkier side to Magnolia when she complained about her "shitty" fabric. This in turn led to a disastrous Cowgirl couture outfit, which paired with an aggressive attitude towards the judges landed her in the bottom 2. She delivered an abysmal performance which got her eliminated on the first episode. She was extremely controversial during "Untucked"when she mentioned she was only their for exposure. The other queens were immediately turned off by this because it seemed as though Magnolia really didn't care to be their. This behavior also rubbed the fans the wrong way since she was not necessarily received with open arms. She attributes her time on Drag Race as her reason for quitting drag all together since she felt attacked by the viewers. I think she probably had some other issues going on that made her act so bitter on the show and ultimately led to the end of her career. I do have to say I did find Magnolia attractive as a boy even on season 6, but now she has a beard and is slowly evolving into a daddy. Definitely would of been team Magnolia if I would have seen more of this. Overall I can't discredit her completely because she must of delivered something in the audition tape that made RuPaul want to cast her. Here's hoping that she makes a return to drag sort of like a redemption from the race. If you want to keep up with Magnolia/Reynolds shirtless bearded daddy selfies go follow her on Instagram @magnoliaisme. You can't say she doesn't do it for the publicity with that username!

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 8 Episode 4 "Untucked": Stand Outs!

KimChi- This week she was a lot more vocal about her opinions on the other girls. She stated how much she disliked Thorgy's neon look, and while Debbie Harry was visiting the safe girls in the "Untucked" lounge she was very forward with her even offering her face as a seat to the 80's pop star. I didn't know KimChi could be so spicy! I was happy to see her be more lively, and she proved she can pull of a good Tyra Sanchez impersonation with her "Why you talking?"
Naomi Smalls comforting her sister in matching pink neon.

ChiChi Devayne- She was on a roller coaster ride this week and it clearly showed. At first her and Naysha went off on the drama that happened on stage where ChiChi vocalized her disagreement over the outfits. Derrick made it clear she was not pleased with her, and that she should of waited her turn. Things turned to a sweeter note when ChiChi's mom showed up on the screen, and you got to see a more vulnerable side of the queen. I hope she is able to pull off something amazing for Snatch Game next week to redeem herself.

Overall this week "Untucked" was kind of reserved and their were no major altercations or meltdowns. No one had a bitchy moment which was odd considering Acid was in the room. I did want to point out something from "Untucked". I have noticed that none of the girls have gone out for smoke breaks. Are they not allowed to smoke during filming anymore? Or did the producers notice that separating the girls that way made the series very monotone? What do you think? One things for sure however Season 8 of "Untucked" surpasses the entertainment value of season 7 by far.

PS: You all voted and the top look for Neon Realness was Acid Betty!

Till next time my fellow school of fish!

Naysha Lopez Pros/ Cons

Naysha Lopez time on drag race was short, but it was filled with ups and downs. From the promos I though she was going to make it halfway or more through the competition, and the fact she was a Ms.Continental winner made her a strong contender. She proved me wrong in the first episode
Naysha at the LA premiere party.
however serving what Raja described as "Drag on a Peso". It was a disastrous look that clearly showed this queen could not construct an outfit. She was also supposed to be a fabulous dancer, but floundered next to Laila McQueen's raw performance of "Applause" in the LSFYL. She was brought back in the third episode, and managed to deliver a safe look and performance which made her the second queen to come back, and not go home that same day. The streak ended this week though when Naysha delivered a poor performance in the New Wave group challenge. Her neon look was amazing and on point, but that couldn't keep her out of the bottom two. Her performance to "Call Me" was better than her previous attempt, but still failed to wow me, and I'm still not convinced about her amazing dance abilities. I would say Naysha's strengths are her beauty, and fishiness. Her runway looks were average, but I think her major con is her performance ability. Both times she failed to deliver on stage, and it makes me wonder if she has trouble embodying different styles of lip sync. Overall she is a gorgeous queen, and a pageant winner so we know their is a lot more talent that we didn't get to see on Drag Race. If you want to keep up with Naysha follow her on Instagram and Twitter @nayshalopez. Till next time fellow racers!

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 8 Episode 4: Ranking the Looks!

This week the queens were challenged to create their own New Wave groups, similar to bands like Blondie, and B-52's. The girls were allowed to choose their team members which lead to interesting pairings. The New York queens teamed up immediately, as well as besties Naomi, KimChi and Robbie. The "leftover" girls Naysha, Derrick, and Chi Chi reluctantly paired up, and were disconnected from the beginning. When choosing what theme they wanted to perform Chi Chi went against her teams wishes picking synth while they wanted party. She also stepped away while her team was working on the lyrics to their song to create a look for the runway, which didn't sit well with Naysha or Derrick. The New York team also experienced their fair share of turmoil. Thorgy and Bob had a lot of creative differences concerning the performance, and this even reflected in their recording session with Lucian. Their was a lot of tension between Lucian, and Bob because she kept questioning Lucian's decisions, and she came off kind of rude. Little did Bob know the songwriter was going to be their guest judge this week. I was really excited about this episode's runway theme which was "Neon Queen Realness" The high voltage looks dazzled the runway although some of the queens dimmed in comparison to others. The brightest outfits this week were:

KimChi- This look without a doubt was the best, and was extremely avant-garde proving that high fashion is this queen's strength. She looked like a modern interpretation of a medieval jester, and the face makeup was so creepy. I love the fact that KimChi's facial features virtually disappeared underneath that mask. One of the best looks to ever walk down the RuPaul's Drag Race runway!

Acid Betty- This category is right up this queen's alley and she showed us why she is renowned for her neon couture. It was an explosion of colors with an amphibian twist. She had gills on her face along with huge bright pink and yellow hair which I have seen floating around on social media. Another stellar look that proves she can back up her bitchiness with talent.

Naomi Smalls- Move out of the way Gigi Hadid! Naomi looked like a Barbie walking down the runway selling resort wear. I loved the contrast between the pink vizor and the bright yellow hair, and her mug was to die for. Naomi's frail thin body also complemented her outfit very well. She served us legs for days, and the pointy bra a la Madonna won points in my book.

Naysha Lopez- The jumpsuit fit this weeks category very well, and the combination of warm colors with the subtle green really made her stand out. It was also hand painted and contained some interesting embroidery as well.It fit Naysha's body like a glove, and really accentuated her ASSets. The only con I had with this look was the hair because it seemed to formal for the funky look.

Bob the Drag Queen- I loved how tall Bob looked in this outfit due to the palazzo pants, and the cinched waist really complemented the proportions. The choice to go wigless payed off because it made the ensemble much more fashion forward. The main issue I had with this look was the lack of neon because I really only saw it on her neck, and her head. The whole outfit itself appeared to be in an odd shade of beige.

Thorgy Thor-She was serving some Twiggy realness this week with that mod dress. The clothing and the hair was cute, but I agreed with the judges about the makeup. It was a bit to much especially all the black lines around her face. A bit of editing will definitely help Thorgy rise to the top, and win a challenge.

Robbie Turner- The neon was a cute twist on this "Little House on the Prairie" look. Its something expected from Robbie, and it was overall a neon piece just like the judges asked, but it felt more like a costume. I also feel like she already served a similar look with her Vera Wang weeding dress from episode 2.

Chi Chi Devayne- This look was extremely basic with just a swimsuit and some knee high boots. It looked like the cliche outfit a queen resorts to when she has nothing else to wear. It was just to simple compared to what the other girls served. I did like her makeup in this look, and the pink hair was giving me Lil Kim vibes.

Derrick Barry- She was my top pick last week, but this week Derrick left me completely unimpressed. The whole outfit was a silhouette that has been seen time and time again and the choker was killing me. I've noticed she loves to wear them but it makes her neck look stumpy. The hair also seemed out of place and was to simple for that look.

KimChi, Naomi and Robbie's team came out on top with the later queen winning this weeks challenge. The New York  queens were safe though their performance, and outfit choices were questioned. Derrick was safe leaving ChiChi, and again Naysha Lopez in the bottom two. They had to lip sync to "Call Me" by Blondie, and Ms. Devayne turned it out. She cartwheeled her way to victory managing to keep her wig on the whole time. Ultimately Naysha sashayed away leaving 8 queens behind, and proving that no queen can break the "Coming Back" curse!

What did you think fellow racers? Who should of sashayed away this week? Who had the fiercest look? Let me know who had your favorite neon looks this episode on my newest poll. Until next time kitty girls!

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 8 Episode 3 "Untucked": Standouts of the Week!

This segment is intended to point out who was who during this weeks episode of "Untucked". Who was the bitch, who was the sweetheart, and who was clueless? Lets take a look

Bitch of the Week-Acid Betty/Robbie Turner

WTF Acid!
I feel like Acid might be bitch of the week every week, but this time she came of as a total C.U.N.T. Her shadiest moment was when she came for Trixie in her Video message for KimChi, stating how ugly Ms. Mattel's makeup was. The fact that she kept making these comments while KimChi was having an emotional reaction made her come off as extremely insensitive. I though Robbie came off as a bitch this week to because she was defensive on the runway, and when Cynthia was talking to her, she came off as sarcastic, and not genuine.

Sweetheart of the week- Cynthia Lee Fontaine

Cynthia knew she was in the bottom two, but she was trying to be as optimistic as possible. She even went up to Robbie, and gave her words of encouragement right before their LSFYL. All the girls really seem to like her,and even Acid held back on being a total bitch to her when  pointing out that she would be in the bottom.

Unexpected Twist- Derrick Barry

Derrick had a lot to say concerning Acid's behavior this week. Some of the girls called her out for her look, but she struck back mentioning that Carson actually enjoyed her look, and considered it a stand out. After Acid's comments about Trixie, Derrick really went off on her pointing how much disdain she had for the previous Drag Race contestant, and how that behavior could bite her in the ass. She was so convincing in her argument that even Bob agreed with her. Her reads are still weak at times especially the "Acid coming for me with one eye comment", which was quite laughable for being so basic.

Loudmouth-Chi Chi Devayne

I like Chi Chi, but this week she was very opinionated about everybody's outfit. I didn't think her look was the most put together, so I don't know why she kept trying to read everyone's look. She wasn't a bitch like Acid, but she was coming off a bit prickly in this "Untucked".

Top Bitches This Week
Acid Betty
Robbie Turner
Chi Chi Devayne

Let the most Drama win!!

Cynthia Lee Fontaine Pros/ Cons

Cynthia Lee Fontaine at the Hollywood Premiere
I was totally rooting for my home state girl Cynthia Lee Fontaine who brought a lot of personality to the competition. She's an Austin queen and as such she is weird, but she definitely has her appeal. Her Puerto Rican/Western accent really complemented her "CuCu" persona, and made her a stand out in the charisma department. She is also a very talented dancer, and she proved on "Untucked" that she has some strong pipes. On the other hand her outfits where always a bit off, and ultimately ended up sending her home. She's not necessarily a fashion forward queen, but many have speculated that she is capable of winning Ms.Congeniality of season 8. I also loved her catchphrase "Mis Amores", and I'm living for her web series on YouTube. Who knew Ms. Fontaine could serve some Barbara Walters realness! When you have a chance check out her series "Memoirs of my CuCu". Here's a link to her YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCM_emGK3gev5fx8CcMFNJQQ. Hasta luego my lovers!

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 8 Episode 3 Ranking the Looks!

Everyone was anticipating this week because it marked the return of a mysterious queen. Little did I know that the obvious choice that was bound to return was Naysha Lopez. Not my main pick to make a comeback, but better than the other options that the queens were implying (Shangela, Victoria Porkchop Parker).Naomi won the mini challenge making her a team captain along with Naysha who was assigned captain as a welcome back gift. The queens were challenged to create their own interpretation of one of my favorite shows "Empire". Thorgy, and Bob who played the same role, Chocolate Chip Cookie, stood out in their respective teams, but Derick and Cynthia who also had similar roles fell flat. Robbie who is a trained actor also disappointed, forgetting simple lines right from the start, and dishing a bit of shade towards Ru. This weeks runway theme was Roller Girl Realness which meant the queens had to serve their looks on skates. So who serves wheels, and who serves heels? Here goes:

Derrick Barry- Her performance was abysmal, but this look was to die for. It was unexpected because of the runway theme, and the whole look told a story. It was like an ice frosting princess skating through her kingdom. That purple hair was a bit Katy Perry like Michelle pointed out, but I don't see that as a con.

Bob the Drag Queen-I have a thing for robotic, sterling silver anything so this look definitely sold it to me. It reminded me of Kandy Ho's outfit in her Robotika performance on YouTube. I love blonde on Bob especially in a high pony tail, and her height complements the jumpsuit very well. I wish her skating was a bit more on point to really maintain that robotic fantasy.

Thorgy Thor- This took me back to the 70's and 80's when roller skating was at its peak. In my opinion this was one of the fishiest looks I've seen Thorgy in which probably had to do with her subdued makeup. The bright pop of "girly"colors looked great on her, and her skating was quite impressive.

Robbie Turner- This look completely transported me to the skating rink in the summer of 1975. The jumpsuit looked amazing, and I loved the way she customized the piece with her initials, but the hair looked dry like in the promo. Her skating was some of the best so that really helped Robbie stand out.

Acid Betty-This look was kind of dark for Betty, but still managed to stand out from the crowd. I loved her headpiece, and the attention to detail in the red contouring of the collar bones was great. I do agree with Michelle that her looks are kind of similar, and it would be nice to see her in something a bit fishier which is out of the box for her.
Naysha Lopez/Naomi Smalls- I placed both of these queens in the same spot because they had the same pretty in pink outfit except Naysha's fit the theme a bit more. On the other hand Naomi didn't fall on stage, and she was a lot more elegant. Overall they served safe looks that were cute, but they weren't necessarily stand outs.

Chi Chi Devayne- This look reminded me of a girl in the hood roller skating, but again it was kind of simple. If Michelle had the chance she would of probably read her for that shade of green. I also though the outfit didn't complement Chi Chi's body very well making her look a bit bigger around her midsection. Her skating was really good however, and elevated her basic look.

Kim Chi-She has been serving it so far, but this look was very disappointing. I don't know how the Toucan Sam look went with the theme, but what really bothered me about this outfit was all the white that was showing. Filling in that white space with color would have elevated this look, but the construction on it was impeccable.

Cynthia Lee Fontaine- My home state girl completely failed at the runway challenge this week. Her whole outfit was a mess, but those shorts were just horrible. She has an amazing cucu, and the shorts with those leggings didn't do her justice. The hair did fit the theme very well, but the hat covered most of it. It was pretty much a fail in the fashion department this week for Cynthia.

Bob the Drag queen won this weeks challenge with the combination of her fierce outfit, along with her outstanding performance. Acid Betty, and Thorgy Thor were also in the top three proving that the New York Girls are here to win. KimChi, Chi Chi Devayne, Naomi Smalls, and Naysha Lopez were all safe. Derrick Barry, Robbie Turner, and Cynthia Lee Fontaine ended up in the bottom three due to their lackluster acting skills. Robbie, and Cynthia went head to head in the LSFYL performing "Mermerized" by Faith Evans. Robbie did her whole lip sync in skates, managed to break a light, and flew off the edge of the stage to snatch the win away from Ms. Fontaine. Cynthia's exit was very heartfelt, and a lot of the queens were sad to see her leave. She was representing Texas so I was rotting for her and you cant help but love her cucu!

Well that was it for my ranking of the looks this week. What do you all think? Was Naysha your pick to come back? Whose outfit was the worst? The Best? Were my ranking completely off the mark? Let me know "Mis Amores".
