[Rival Watch] Conte to Chelsea Confirmed (self.reddevils)

All our rivals seem to have figured out their managers for next season while we are sending mixed messages! Lvg is now deciding preseason tour plans, while everyone and their Goddamn mother say José's arrival is imminent. Does this change anything?

I don't think LVG will be here next season, but there is literally no reason to appoint Mourinho right now.

I seriously hope he's not here next season. I know it's hard to see all other clubs seemingly preparing for next season already but I think we just have to ride this fucked up wave.

By reading all the stuff coming from his agents I think Mourinho knows who he wants to get if he's here. And the squad is super thin so it's not as if he'll need to get rid of tons of players. So it's not as bad as it seems.

But I agree that this parallel track stuff, where LVG is planning as if he's the manager (because he certainly doesn't think he'll get sacked) while Mourinho and Mendes go talk to players is not helpful.

Me too. This scares me so much. I really want us to be in the CL next season, but one more year of Van Gaal would halt us from making any further progress and Mourinho would go elsewhere.

Also, he couldn't beat Midtjylland in Denmark, got eliminated by Liverpool in the EL, blew a 2-0 lead to Newcastlle, lost to Middlesborough on penalties, couldn't beat Sheffield Wednesday in 90 minutes, lost to Bournemouth, lost to Sunderland in a must win game, and lost to Norwich.

Can we please give him a lifetime contract?

I wouldn't call it an Arsenal mindset because I don't think the board thinks 4th is good enough. It's more that there are factions in the club that really like LVG and others that really, really want the Class of 92 to be running the club.

How are we supposed to know? Everyone here just like everyone out there are in the dark about what's going on inside the club. Might as well wait till the season ends and see if the club comes up with an offical statement regarding this whole issue.

Several top journalists all saying his no1 target is Lukaku and he wants to go back to Chelsea.

Kicks any interest in him in the bud I think. Utterly pointless starting a bidding war on a player thats already going to cost close to 50 million.
