We got too much shit to do to worry what a continent of has-beens thinks.

I feel like Europe is to Americans what Byzantium was to Western Europe.

As a northern European living in the US I can tell you that the US is still in it's diapers regarding many issues that actually matter.

Northern European eh?

So which issue do we not have a firm grasp on; being occupied by the Germans, being "neutral" with the Germans, or outright allying with the Germans?

Or maybe do we not understand how to cede territory to the Russians?

There's just so many European countries, all with so many faults. It's like an entire continent of people in glass houses throwing stones.

As a northern European in America, you clearly don't like being here; your post history attests to that. So why are you here?

I swear to god, every time a European comes in and says "well I live in America and THIS is what is wrong with your country after X years of living here", all they do is come in and say "your culture has different values than mine, and here is why your values are wrong."

Aren't you quite done trying to force your culture on other nations?

Here's what I, as an American, think of Europe.

I think you're (the plural "you", as in nearly all European states) a continent of self-important, arrogant snobs who think you're better than everyone else.

I think you act that way even as you have the US handle almost all of your national security. Don't believe me? Who did you get to fight the Kosovo war for you, because you didn't have the manpower to put down ANOTHER genocide on your home turf?

I think you act all high and mighty despite the fact that your entire continent is practically the entire reason the world is in such a terrible state.

The middle east is, at its core, fucked up because of British Mandatory Palestine and the lackadaisical approach to splitting it between the Jews and Palestinians.

Southeast Asia was extracted for I don't even know how long by the fucking Europeans... ESPECIALLY the fucking Dutch.

Don't even get me started on Africa.

So, Mr "Northern European living in America", why don't you give me one good reason we, or ANYONE, should give a shit what you have to say about anything?

In fact, the next time you think you want to tell us what our country is doing wrong, just remember that your country's most famous person is a dead girl who gave the world insight into what it's like when your nation is so worthless it can't even defend its own citizens.

But hey, you've got universal healthcare and bike lanes. Aren't you super?

Balfour Declaration

That's precisely what I'm talking about.

For all the shit Europe and the British give us over the Middle East, they sure do like to gloss over that little tidbit of info, don't they?

My wife and this countries beautiful nature are keeping me here. Excuse me for being critical. I never said the rest of the world was perfect. Churchill (speaking of arrogant snobs btw) said it pretty well “You can always count on Americans to do the right thing — after they've tried everything else". It's like trying to re-invent a better wheel, ignoring what's there, going through dozens of iterations to frikin finally realize...you know what..that round wheel ain't so bad, but let's just still give it our own twist.

Ouch!
