Yesterday he had Lukaku in his back pocket. Lukaku I might add, is one of the best strikers in the league. I'm a big fan of him as a CB, he reads the game very well and for someone who isn't a "natural", he's doing a great job.

Thanks for the share, even with the source. Shame more people in this sub don't actually watch games and just parrot the bullshit continuously said about Blind or else I'm sure he'd be one of the more loved players in the team.

He's still no great CB, but he definitely puts in the effort and yesterday showed how far he's come since that nightmarish game he had against Pelle at St. Mary's. He gets a lot of undeserved flak at times but CB is still not where he can be of best use to us. We need the passer in him in midfield, soaking up the pressure and keep the team ticking.

Actually, these kind of comments are more parroted than the common rhetoric about his lack of stature or so because, his flaws are quite easily noticeable in several games, despite his good qualities.

Is he a good CB? Yes. Very good? Sometimes. Sometimes not. That's arguable already. Can he be one? Yes, if he works on the aspects he's lacking in at times like ball watching, or errors of sorts.

His stature will be the biggest limiting factor in a league where physicality is strong and technique is catching up too and there'll be games or times where he still won't be good enough as a result.

It's very easy to say what you just did to dismiss people as not watching the games just because a more detailed write up about him highlights his positives and you/people agree after seeing it so recently. But, that highlights even further that people are so recently biased that they don't remember his mistakes or shortcomings and all that too from watching him play.

And it's far from bullshit to suggest he lacks pace, heading ability or such. He's got his strengths but also has limitations.

Blind is still a ropey CB. Just watch his 'marking' of Vardy in the week. He gets caught ball watching like that all the time costing us loads of goals/points this season.

He's not as bad as a lot of us thought but he's still nowhere near the level we require at CB going forward

Contrary to popular opinion Blind's problems at CB aren't physical they're ball watching, poor positioning and bad decision making. He actually does well in physical one on one battles

I didn't see the game yesterday as I was working but I've said it for a few months that now blind is an absolute monster of a defender (in his own unique way) his technical ability and positional awareness make up for the natural traits he doesn't have to be a defender.

Now don't get me wrong.. I'm not saying we should look at blind as a permanent fix at cb but until the player come along be it 1/3/5 years I think he is more than capable. Even great defenders have bad games.

Final thought. . We are lucky to have him!
