Fixing yourself > An heroing
If anyone has wanted to an hero for quite a while I'd recommend this, even though I didn't pull it off on the first try
If you have family/friends you wouldn't want to kill yourself b/c of, or just don't truly want to die it's an option
>dolphins who don't get sex sometimes become murderous
>pets are often very unhappy before being fixed
Life is designed to make even possibly most 'adjusted' people unhappy. We are basically designed to solve problems related to 'succeeding' by being unhappy if we don't. (This was an upgrade made to robots in one of the Hitchhiker's Guide, a pretty sad and genius moment in the books)
This is why the happiness hormone is actually described as being the wanting hormone. It's not about enjoying something in life but desiring and trying to attain it. Fixing self thus should not only save you much of the unhappiness of no relationship but also the unhappiness of not having a bigger and better relationship that I've seen in many couples in my life
Instead of thinking about suicide if you're chronically unhappy, focus on what you need to try and cut your balls out. I'm not sure if a vasectomy would have the same effect but that's another way to go and probably worth trying especially if you'd kinda like something reversible. This is the only thing I've had in the last 8 years or so that took me away from constant an hero worship. All my desire to suicide I shifted to fixing myself... buying and thinking about the stuff required, and then actually trying it.
