I recognize all of those words but that sentence doesn't make any sense.

19 in a month and havent done any drugs, and havent drank an ounce of alcohol, none of it interests me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That can be a good thing depending on your personality. I started drinking just for fun after being sober my entire life at age 20 and was a full blown alcoholic and substance abuser at the end of 21. I wish I could start back over at 19 and sober. You're not missing out on much.

The main reason I dont do it is because I fear I would develop an addiction, as both of my parents were addicts at one point in their life and of their parents, 3 out of 4 were addicts.

Same boat. My parents are fine but my grandparents were alcoholics. I just have no self control once I start with any substance so the only solution that works for me is not touching them at all.

I'm 23 and I haven't gone more than seven days without THC in over five years. I have a good life and my income supports my addiction with no financial strain on any other aspect of my life. But I still wish I wasn't addicted to cannabis. It's best not to start if you have an addictive personality, like I do. If I like something, I want more of it than I could ever possibly handle. If you feel like that about things, don't do drugs.

I dont have an addictive personality myself, but addiction does run very heavily in my family, so i feel if i were to start something i might get addicted.

You're missing out man. Beer is the fucking tits.

I just see no reason to have to deal with hangovers and the possibility that I would do something incredibly stupid while drunk.

weeeeeed dude !!!!!!! lol!!!!! lmao1!!!!!!!!!!!

How dare you come in here with your youth and non substance addiction, obviously we're celebrating our drunken misery and must down vote you for not joining in.

First off, hangovers are very easy to avoid. A glass of water and an Advil before bed and you're golden. 2nd of all, you don't need to get absolutely shitfaced or piss yourself like everyone says. Learn how much it takes for you to relax and have a good time, and stick to that amount.

for you to relax and have a good time

Except im already relaxed and can have a good time without alcohol.

Alcohol (light buzz) relaxed is not the same as sober relaxed. That doesn't necessarily mean it's better, but it's a different feeling.

Man, sounds to me like you're just scared you'll enjoy it. Live a little.

"You don't enjoy things I enjoy. You aren't living life." Grow up.

It has nothing to do with that. IMO one shouldn't be this against trying something new, especially considering it's something they might enjoy, and is not relatively very risky. The thing is, you have no clue whether or not you enjoy it because you're too afraid to come out of your shell.

No im scared of 1. That ill get addicted because both my parents were addicts, and 3 out of 4 of my grandparents were addicts, addiction runs very heavily in my family. And 2. that ill get in trouble for drinking because its illegal for me to drink (only 18, legal age for drinking is 21).

It takes a lot of beers to get a hangover.

That's not how alcohol works. You don't just get shitfaced drunk any time you drink. Just limit yourself to a few beers or glasses of wine (like most people do) and you won't be drunk enough to do any stupid things while you can still enjoy the positive effects of alcohol, which are for me openness, more enthusiasm, I'm more sociable and I enjoy things like going out and listening to music more. And the hangover will be almost nonexistent if you don't consume much alcohol while drinking water repeatedly during the night out.
I don't want to force you to drink alcohol, seriously it's cool if you can live without and still have a ton of fun, but it seems to me like you have weird image of alcohol. It's certainly not just some stuff that gets you shitfaced and a hangover.

Fair, but there's nothing better then a beer or 2 at the end of the day. To each their own I guess.

If you think there's nothing better than two beers at the end of the day, you've never had great food.

drink light beer, no hangovers

Beer also tastes like piss and ruins the taste of the food you drink it with.

Wine, on the other hand...

Ex heroin addict here you should stay that way :)

You're doing the right thing!

Good on you, it's really not that special. I don't get the binge-drinking thing everyone seems to do in college anyways. It really doesn't do much to improve the experience. A drink or two loosens me up a bit, which is sometimes sorely necessary, anything more is just a higher risk of throwing up. If you're having fun without drinking, just keep doing what you're doing, because you're obviously doing something right.
