After everything Wenger has said, surely not Arsenal? Hasn't he even encouraged PED investigations?

Players can do it without the knowledge of the manager.

Surely not Chelsea because they're shit

Now that it is mentioned. It is kind of strange how their form is massively destroying a team one game, then massively shit the next.

Must be a shitty drug then

You should see them without the drug.

Leicester also had a surprise drug's test a few weeks back, so if there'd been something wrong, we'd know.

The doctor isn't very reputable, he's their only source, it's very vague.

Not saying they've got something to hide but it's not like drugs tests (even random ones) conclusively tell you whether they do or not. Look at Lance Armstrong as an example, he's probably the most drug tested person in history and the truth about him didn't come out until recently.

Every team is using performance enhancing drugs. Why would they risk the ramifications of being caught with drugs that are currently illegal? The penalties are huge in English football.

Winning would probably be one reason to risk it.

The penalties are very harsh though. Remember what happened to Rio after his missed drug test ordeal? Missed an entire season. If entire teams are risking these penalties, they better be damn good drugs.

It's the effect of everybody's doing it, like they had in cycling... (Illegal) doping has been of all times.

In football there hasn't been a lot of testing so it's quite easy to do... I don't think they have a program like in cycling where they have to tell there whereabouts every moment of the day. So it's easy for the teamdoctor to say take these pills each day before you go to bed, they'll make sure it's out of their blood once they have the risk of being tested.

You need to do these things to win/keep up.. because the game has become that much more demanding. Your food intake and conditioning can be near perfect, but one has to be at peak levels for a long time.

Then there's recovery, playing 2 sometimes 3 matches a week is very hard on the body... It's naive to think top-tier football teams aren't on some kind of program. It probably won't be hardcore blood doping/transfusions/EPO because football is more than endurance, but it might be things to lessen recovery times. I think they're very likely to also administer illegal drugs because that stuff is known to work and it can be done with very little risk.

These things have been going around for a while, read up upon doctor Fuentes and the Spanish national team...

A lot of people are making a lot of money by having top players play every match of the season. So even if somebody gets caught it has a way of disappearing.

Performance enhancing drugs in football will be the biggest story in the sporting world at some stage in the future. It might not be now or in a year but it is going to come out that most top level players take them. I've been convinced of this for years.
