On the other hand though,one could say that the last few seasons have seen English clubs perform considerably worse in European competitions.

I personally think it's a bit of both.Smaller teams have grown and the big 4 have fallen off their past standards.

Yeah the quality throughout the league is so much higher so there are no easy games. And it's not the English game is low intensity either so it's all high intensity and difficult games. Throw on all the extra games the top sides generally have and you have a perfect storm for the topsy turvey results we have seen

Citys form has been poor since November. KdB didn't get hurt until the end of Jan.

Also I don't know where people are getting that KdB performances have been out of this world. He has done well in general but those outstanding performances we saw him put in regulary in Germany aren't really there at this moment
