Honestly, I could be overthinking it. I WAS called gaijin when in someone's way in Osaka, so I believe that put a bad taste in my mouth.

I don't know that it's mean, but I get that feeling sometimes. Granted, I could be reading it all wrong. Now I know when I'm in someone's way and hear "gaijin" it's probably not meant to be nice.

Is this just a misunderstanding?

This might be the case. I didn't know you weren't typically supposed to reply during a transaction. I can usually tell when they are asking a question, they usually point to what they are asking about if I don't respond.

Is this just a misunderstanding?

It doesn't really take place in a small talk fashion. Mostly during transactions. I don't try to start conversations.

Is this just a misunderstanding?

No, it's not to engage anyone in any small talk. Like I said, it's usually during a transaction. For example, if i'm buying something, they'll start talking and explaining the transaction while giving me my change back. I'll respond with an arigatou or a hai to let them know that "ok thank you, I understand" and I'll get a look like..."don't even try." I've had a cashier say something under their breath to the person next to them like "xxxx xxxx gaijin" as their handing me my bag. Now, I know gaijin isn't always offensive, but I know that sometimes it is.

I'd recommend the small. At first, it'll seem like a good idea to get a bigger surface, but believe me, you'll get tired really quick of moving your arm to get across the screen.

I use a small rectangle mapped to the top left corner for my Intuos small. I can cross a whole screen with small hand movements rather than sweeping arm movements. Even with the smaller portion mapped, the Intuos is still sensitive enough to do the fine detail work for retouching.

I also use a dual monitor setup, but only do color correction/retouching on one of them so I've set it up where the Intuos only travels on that one. 2560 x 1440. Works perfectly.

TIL after the 'feel-good' story about the success of an ex-Convict turning his life around appeared on the Syracuse.com news site, the car dealership with whom he was employed immediately fired him.

ITT: People who have never worked with ex-convicts.

I work with people that have records. The ones with weed charges are still smoking. The ones with assault records are still assaulting. These ex-cons can get hired. It's tough though. For they most part, they can't be hired for work around the general public. Would you stake your business on one dude, hoping he won't fuck up? Knowing that he probably will? Would you trust a thief with your company's equipment?

In the 10 years I've worked in this business, I've met ONE guy that has really cleaned his life up. Out of hundreds of ex-cons. One.

It kinda looks like you black barred the frame rather than actually have the wider aspect ratio. Cut out the points where it frames things kind of odd. Faces too high in the frame, wrists being cut off, etc. Also, its tough to tell when having no fill light on a face is a creative choice, or just bad lighting, so pick and choose which of those you want to keep in the reel. You certainly don't need all of them. Other than that, pretty strong.

I returned it today. I'm confident it was shorting out internally. I'd take the batteries out and they'd be warm, not super hot, but warmer than you'd expect. I imaging the actual inside of the flash would be pretty hot though.

aww 内の vitruve によるリンク i love when they sit fully on their butts

Dogs that sit this way MAY have Hip Dysplasia. I must stress that they MAY have it, but some dogs just like to sit weird. They can usually tell with an x-ray at your vet. The vet told me that a high percentage of dogs have Hip Dysplasia, but there is varying degrees. Sometimes its just mildly uncomfortable, but sometimes it can be very painful for them later in life. Fortunately, theres a few things you can do to help alleviate it. Lower there body weight, keep them from jumping and landing on their hind legs, etc. There's shots that you can administer to promote joint fluid. They are kind of expensive, but apparently they work really really well. Extreme cases of Hip Dysplasia might need surgery.

Source: One of my dogs sits like this but kind of splays one leg out to the side. She was just recently diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia. She's 2 and a half and we caught it early and started the shots. There was an immediate change in how active she is.

Huge response! Wasn't expecting that. Thanks for everyone's help. I have some good options now.

Like I said before, I really don't have a problem crashing out, it's the constant shifting and waking up that bothers me.

Unfortunately, I can't smoke due to random drug testing, and I'm already "randomly" selected every time they have them at my job haha.

I will look into a few of your suggestions. The stretching/yoga thing before bed might help, and I'll probably try to stay in a cold shower for a while as well. I'm looking into ZMA now.

I already have an in-room A/C which creates white noise. And I've tried the book reading before bed to easy myself into sleep, but nothing seems to keep me there.

I appreciate everyone's help and I'll be going systematically through your suggestions (the ones I can) and see which ones help the most.
