no, taste and popularity have made Bach more popular

Bach is tonal and largely instrumental, and that makes him far more palatable to people than the modal vocal music of the Renaissance

people aren't as able to recognize what makes Palestrina so great on a technical level because the issues surrounding his innovations are so alien to them

in fact, there are people who think Renaissance music should be judged by ethnomusicological metrics, since the aesthetics and cultural expectations are so different different from ours

but i'm sure you don't consider non-Western musics inferior, right?
