Kamal adamant on releasing his movie on DTH first...Not a Kamal fan and neither do i know the ulterior motive but i believe its a fabulous idea, especially for small movies which dont have a chance to take on the biggies in the theatres. Price it at Rs. 200 on DTH and they probably have a far better chance of business than at the theatres. As for copying from DTH and releasings pirated DVDs, well, they are going to do it anyway..

  5. For quite sometime now, the BCCI was trying to fool everyone into believing that the 8-0 drubbing outside India was just an one-off thing and that everything was normal with Indian cricket. Now, the lack of skill and talent is very clear when we cant even beat England (who, at one time, were mocked for not being able to play spin) at home on friendly pitches. Sack Dhoni and his cohorts and acknowledge that there is a deep-rooted problem. Only then will we be able to find a solution.

  8. Took over FB marketing for our company from the marketing team. Just wanted to try my hand. First campaign. 11, 000 impressions within 24 hrs. CTR very low but on par with FB average. Went for cost per impression than for cost per click for first campaign. Would help in brand building, i thought. Great to be able to focus the ad on target countries and on audience related to FX...results...company ad on FB pages of 11, 000 users for $1.2 in 12 hrs...will take it any day...useful insight for next project..:)...

The Irish anti-abortion law is amazing...i do understand the need to save the life of an unborn baby but isnt saving the life of an existing life more important? if this had happened in the third world, it would have been described as medieval and draconian..first Norway, now Ireland...and they are supposed to be developed countries?

Diwali in Chennai has thankfully changed from more of sound to more of light...the night skies are sooo beautiful to watch...and the long weekend helps as it helps to spread all the fireworks over 2-3 days than everything on a single day...looking forward to tonight and more beautiful night skies....diwali is an absolute treat...esp. when you have a kid at home...:)....

  5. Finally, after a delay of 1 month, i am proud to announce the birth of our company, Ethos Capital Limited, a forex brokerage cum bank based out of New Zealand (www.fxethos.com). Its been about 4 mnths of hard work and a lot of new learning and discovery along the way. We start off with our fx brokerage and we plan to branch out into offshore banking once it stabilises.   15. thanks to badri for the seed, but wouldnt it be a better idea for all potential apartment buyers (or a few of them) to join together, locate a good place, hire a contractor and build a big apartment complex for themselves? would save 30-40% of the cost at a minimum, u get an apartment in a place u want (rather than the builder building it somewhere and nudging u to buy it) and u build it with all the facilities that u really need (rather than extra facilities being forced on u and u having to pay for it)...would be a much better community, better building at a much lesser cost...dont u think?
