NEW: Saygus posted some updates on Twitter and Indiegogo together with some pictures of the packaging and of the manufacturing hall. We're finally getting closer to shipping!

Progress info (as of 2015-12-14):
TLDR; Saygus is now working with their own team of engineers to finally finish the V² and is planning to show recent versions of the device at the CES 2016 in Las Vegas in January.

During the last months Saygus has faced several challenges and had many ups and downs with their recent manufacturing "partner". Finally Saygus decided to end that partnership, set up their own team of engineers and is doing the major parts of hard- and software development by their own team now. As you could already see on Twitter, Saygus has put up a new sign on their building and extended their office in Salt Lake City by two more floors, in order to have more room for the new engineering team. Additionally they are getting support by Qualcomm and extended the on-site team in China.
Some of you recently dicovered Saygus on the exhibitors list for the CES 2016. Until now the attendance of Saygus at the CES isn't completely certain, since it's heavily dependend on the overall progress during the next few weeks and Saygus definitely wants to show some recent versions of the device there.

Personal note:
I'm not trying to find excuses for Saygus behaviour towards their customers, broken promises in the past and slow refunds with this post. I still keep my original pre order from early February and don't doubt, that Saygus is still working on the V². As soon as I get my hands on the final device or some more progress details, I'll let you know.
If you have been waiting more than four weeks for your refund and haven't seen your money yet, feel free to contact me in order to speed things up!
Saygus has been found on the CES 2016 exhibitors listing, which will take place in Las Vegas from January 6-9th 2016. source.
The address-confirmation-request eMail has been sent out to early pre orderers today (2015-11-28). Saygus also included a comparison sheet, which compares the V² to some other recent smartphones.

Personal note (2015-11-08): Some of you contacted and asked me regarding shipping next week.
I doubt that the shipping of the February pre orders will start next week, since Saygus has to give people a chance to update their addresses and also a possibility to choose and add accessories to their order. Besides that I'm still waiting for the shipping of the review units, which are said to be shipped before the regular pre orders.
Progress info (as of 2015-10-17): Saygus is still preparing and optimizing processes for mass production. They are an officially certified Qualcomm Partner now.
To answer at least two of the recent questions: The early pre orderers will be getting the SqGl In-Ears and on top of that they're thinking about a second compensation for the long wait. The first devices may be still shipping with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but there will be an OTA upgrade to Android 6.x Marshmallow available later.
Progress info (as of 2015-09-26): Saygus has still been struggling with some missing parts, but they finally received the missing camera modules for the first production run this week source. They are planning to start the final production/assembly by next week.
Personal notice: I'm aware that it feels like Saygus had this state a couple of times already. Even though I give my best to keep all the information published here as precise and detailed as possible, you may want to take this one with some grain of salt. ;-) I'll keep you posted!
Progress info (as of 2015-09-08): I'm back from summer holidays now, so you can expect more frequent updates here again.
Saygus has finally received all missing parts for mass production in the desired quantity. Unfortunately I need to throw back my release/shipping expectation again, so that we are in mid/late October now. ( still a personal estimation, no official info/statement ! )
Saygus now officially turned from Development into Production Stage. source

Development

In order to start the development, we (the Saygus V² community) have to wait until we receive our devices, so that we can gather detailed information about the exact hardware, kernel, recovery, etc.
