I am personally waiting for them to let me give them the money. I support any US company willing to give it a shot. Especially when the product is unlike anything we've seen in the market thus far.

I was thinking about getting one. Anyone have any good reasons to not get it other than the small manufacturer and looks?

It has the Snapdragon801, so it's not a current top of the line processor if that bothers you.

Yeah, but I honestly don't see a big difference between SD 801 and SD 805 other than some graphics-side boosts (which aren't too important for me since I don't game and the display is only 1080p). SD 810 brings some legitimate performance boosts, but it seems to be facing thermal issues...

I'm strongly considering it myself after my contract is up and I get rid of my s4 (hopefully before I succumb to my urge to dropkick it with steel toe boots). My main concern is with Saygus being a relatively new comer to the mobile device market, what kind of support can we expect from them if the phone shits the bed? Also, being a flashaholic I wonder how popular this phone will be. Popular phones tend to have a wealth of ROMs available for to fiddle with, whereas not so popular phones only have a few, that also effects how many different cases and screen protectors out there are made for it.

It's between that and the 1+1 for me, with maybe the Asus phone that is supposed to be a performance beast (I forget the name, lost a little too much sleep to the Super Bowl party last night).

The 801 is still more than enough. The Xperia Z3 and Moto X are both current flagship 801 devices.

I like the double micro SD slots, double OIS cameras, removable battery, power saving chip, etc. But I'll buy it only if good reports come out about the software. Good hardware is half the formula.

You can always just slap Cyanogenmod on it if you don't like stock Android. The only question is how well the drivers work. Since it's most generic hardware anyways, it should be fine. The only thing I'm held up on is the quality of the camera sensors.

It's running stock Android? I thought they might have their own skin for it. In that case, I'll skip it. CM and AOSP in general aren't good with camera software like, post processing, and lack features. I was hoping Saygus would actually throw more support behind the phone.

Yeah it's supposed to running "close to stock" Android. Android 5.0 Camera Driver is pretty nice for photos if you're willing to put some time into it.

Anyways to each their own I suppose :)

Also no.

I would if I could afford to throw $550 around, however waiting is probably best to see how much the phone delivers on its promises.

I'm on the fence between this and the moto x pure, especially since I managed to snag the vday coupon. I have the same concerns about lack of community support (Roms) for the phone, but I think I read that they are at least working on a cyanogenmod ROM for it somewhere.

do they even have an estimated ship date? I don't think it's smart to buy from an unproven company...if it ships as expected and is well reviewed I may buy it (depending on what the Galaxy S6 looks like..)

[–]Erstam 2

They updated the faq tonight. Says shipping in 6 to 8 weeks and they will give more approximate time in March...

Still I'm not so sure I'm willing for an 801... I can't get over the fact that everything else is great about the phone, except 801...

I want one. I'll probably buy it.. I buy every damn phone I like, it's bad

No. Definitely not. It's probably not gonna be on Sprint anyways, even if it was I wouldn't. I'm sold on the Hima.

Their FAQ says they will send it through Sprint certification so maybe it'll arrive this summer.

I'd highly consider it but... The thing is just way too ugly.

[–]DustbinKZ3c stock rooted, RIP Nexus 5 w/ Cataclysm & ElementalX. 0

It's ugly, expensive, has huge bezels, and doesn't even have Lollipop. I'll pass.

I wouldn't call it expensive (most other flagships retail for $600-700), but it does look pretty bad.

It has smaller bezels than the Nexus 5.

Looks to have the same physical size as the N5 and lg g2, just a little thicker at 9.7mm. Easily one handed which is what I miss about my N5 but the battery life killed it for me.
