Man United ready to do 'madness' to sign defender, talks started

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are ready to do “madness” for Jeison Murillo. That’s how Wednesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport wonderfully describe the clubs interest in the Inter Milan defender.

On Tuesday, we covered reports from Colombia claiming both clubs would be after the 23-year-old. Now Gazzetta brings a complete story on how Inter are already planning to replace him next summer.

It’s not the club’s intention to let him go, as the Murillo-Miranda partnership have been working well this season. However, if Inter don’t achieve a spot in the Champions League, they will reportedly have to make some sacrifices, and that includes selling one of their stars.

According to Gazzetta, Inter would listen to offers of at least €18m. They also mention a Colombian source (which might be the same we used on Tuesday) which says United would be willing to pay €25m.

The newspaper says the clubs have not only asked about the player, but also “something more”. These recent approaches would be much more serious than the Barcelona and Real Madrid interest reported during the winter.

Murillo joined Inter from Granada last summer for £6m. His contract with the Italian club runs until 2020.
