As great a game as FFXIV is , what are your personal criticisms of it? Throwaways welcome.

Midas Savage requires basically absolutely perfect execution of the fights. Perfect execution of dps rotations when you've got no other mechanics to worry about should be trivial to people that can clear Midas Savage.

If the woman is even moderately attractive, she inherently has something that every man might want - her body. And at the same time, she likely has far less confidence in her ability to manage the situation if it goes badly. Women can't run as fast as men (and aren't typically wearing shoes which let them sprint anyways). They are also physically weaker. A woman walking by two men is both more likely to be attacked, and less likely to escape unharmed if they do attack, than you would be in the same situation.

So many assumptions. I have no response.

The thing about raiding is that you're not getting matched up with anybody randomly.

But that's exactly what Party Finder is. A random assortment of players.

There are level restrictions in the game that says "no you can't do this dungeon/raid." There are item restrictions that say "no you can't wear this equipment. It doesn't benefit you." There are item level restrictions in the game that says, "no you can't do this dungeon/raid."

There are plenty of things in the game that create barriers to stop you from being less than optimal that are "cold and detached." There's no reason a DPS check can't be a part of that.

This right here is the problem with your line of thought. No, she shouldn't feel slightly nervous just walking past those guys at night if they've done nothing to make her feel nervous. Two guys talking under a street light shouldn't be automatically perceived as threatening. Hell, they're under a street light. They're literally putting a spotlight on themselves.

There was nothing apparently bold or aggressive with what the two men did in this comic. There's nothing showing their intention. The lettering sucks, you can't see facial expressions, you never even see them again until the last panel, where they're still standing exactly where they were in the first panel talking to each other.

If I have no intention of assaulting a woman, and I compliment her on the street, and she finds some kind of aggression in me being genuine, then that's not my fault. That doesn't make me a bully. That doesn't make me a creep.

The problem with how they implemented Stone/Sea/Sky is that they should be required to clear these trials in order to even step foot into a raid.

Not necessarily true. I could play a Death Knight with one /castsequence macro and it covered my entire rotation other than the initial set up even back in WotLK.

You log in, you get an item. You play for 8 hours. Your character gains 12 levels, but you don't get any items. Server crashes, last save of your character was when you logged in.

Saving states isn't just about bag space. It's everything.

That's exactly what it is. People talking about it being patterns or it being Photoshopped don't seem to know how light through windows works. If it's light outside and dark inside, you will see a reflection. If something in the reflection is dark enough (like the back of her dark head piece), the inside will be visible in that section.

The design of the sail itself is fine. While not anything inspired, it still works.

The wording is terrible. Poor font choice, and the layout doesn't make sense. Rotating words like that is almost always a bad idea. Not to mention, the english written language is read from left to right, then top to bottom, so most people will want to read the word cooler first.

I didn't say well kempt men can't be rapists. Also, to say "well-kempt men are frequently rapists" is just asinine. "Rapists are frequently well-kempt men" would be a better way to make whatever point you were trying to make.

Their appearance has everything to do with it. The way they're standing, the way they're presenting themselves. The tone of their voice. None of this was conveyed in the comic. You even say they were yelling at her. Who says they're yelling? Again, this isn't conveyed in the comic at any point.

I'm not saying that at all. What I'm saying is there's nothing else in the comic that portrays their intentions at all. To immediately assume they're going to rape or hurt this girl is just ridiculous because there's nothing that points to this being the outcome other than "omg some guys cat called me at night."

You know what else happens? A guy is sincere, women laugh at the silliness of the situation, and walk away unscathed. In fact, I'd say that happens much more often than your scenario.

If they said that to me and nothing else, then why would I feel nervous? If they make some kind of motion towards me, that's different.

But again, based on the comic itself, which is all we have to go off of, there's nothing threatening actually happening here. There's no evidence she's being followed. There's no evidence showing they had any kind of malicious intent. There's no evidence that it's a "mostly empty street."

I've said similar things to women a few times while being intoxicated on the street after a night at the bar during college. I can promise you there was nothing threatening about it, and it was never taken that way. A laugh or an eye roll is all I ever got.
