That's the thing, it's not illegal to refuse service. It is illegal though to refuse service on grounds that they're gay. The point being refuse service all you want, just don't say why, and you're not required to say why.

That's... not good legal advice. In point of fact that's really bad legal advice. The law really can make the distinction that if your business is available for straight couples and mysteriously has no opening when gay couples ask that you're discriminating.

Other than being 100% incorrect and you can definitely still be successfully sued for discrimination without stating that as a reason, sure.

eh, I think that's been done a lot in history. The hope is just that those ass holes die out and didn't spread there hate to future generations. Hasn't fully worked with racism but I like to think making discrimination based on race illegal has made a dent in racism
