He may not have the best experience

He doesn't have any experience.

by being the assistant manager for almost 3 years now

Almost 2 years.

All great managers once started off as amateurs without any professional experience, and Giggs has already learnt a lot in the last 3 years and will learn a lot and improvise the team if he's given the chance.

This is the biggest football club in the world, we can't have a manager who learns and improvises as he goes along.

I'm all for Giggs to manage us some day, but today isn't that day. He needs to get some proper hands-on experience. We can't afford to have a manager with training wheels on.

Yeah I'd absolutely love Giggs to manage us, but not now. It's way too risky. The chances that he doesn't do well now are very high. Can you imagine what people will say? Can you imagine us being a position where we have to sack Giggs? It's one of my worst nightmares

All he gave to this club would be shadowed by this, and it would also most likely close the doors for a future appointment for Giggs. It's stupid, we don't have to risk so much now, we have much better choices. The best of players won't like going to a club where you don't know what to expect. We have to wait until he's ready, I don't believe he is now

Almost 2 years

You've repressed Moyes too huh?

He was still a player then, not Moyes's assistant.

One thing that goes against Giggs in my mind is that he has been the assistant to two very unsuccessful managers, LVG hasn't played the united way and has frankly made idiotic decisions and not once have we heard Giggs stand up to him, now he may have but I Imagine it would have gotten out, if he can't stand up to LVG or even Moyes for God's sake how could he stand up to the type of world class players with attitudes that we aspire to have.

Put it this way: you're going to dine out, you have choices.

You can either have:

The dish you know is going to be delicious

or

The dish you've never really tried, that COULD be delicious, or could give you bowel problems.

I'd rather go for delicious, i.e. someone proven

It's like cooking fugu from a wikihow tutorial - it could be great, but you're pretty likely to die

The dish you know is going to be delicious

I guess Mourinho is the dish you're referring to here? What if we get the shit sandwich that was Chelsea this season?

[–]parton90Scholes -3ポイント-2ポイント  (1子コメント)

Yeah but that delicious dish you could only have maybe 2/3 times at max, if the dish you've never tried is delicious you could have that maybe 20+ times, what do you do then?

I still go for the thing that won't make me shit myself violently

So what other than wishful thinking points you to the conclusion that he'll be a great manager? I think you are confusing hope and loyalty for something else.

Can we stop doing thread titles with just a name? It's about as informative as fucking clickbait.

Nobody refutes that on this sub that he could be a great manager, the problem is is that he has no experience. He needs to prove what he has learnt somewhere else first. Why don't you agree with that

[–]wharsmetoothpicson 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

The problem for most fans is we want to see someone with proven experience coming in because it's all we can go on looking at it from the outside. We don't know what Giggs' talents are, what his responsibilities are now, what it takes to run a club. Basically we know nothing so we choose the option that seems most logical with the little info we do have but we tend to ignore things like the fact that LVG has more experience than anyone currently in football and it hasn't worked, or in the case of Mourinho we completely gloss over the fact he had a disaster this season, way worse than LVG. Our views are pointless really, but it fills some time I suppose.

LVG was confused as to why the fans were shouting 'Attack Attack Attack!'. To me, this shows how Giggs has either kept quiet or does not have much say. I hope Giggs will be in charge of Man Utd one day, but not now when we need a manger to overhaul this squad.
