Bob's confidence level doesn't match her abilities. Don't get me wrong she's great but she acts like she's god gift to the world.

I agree. They should bring Kristen Johnson back to let her tell Bob the same she said to Detox. This over confidence is a bit of a boner killer, specially when she should try to improve her fashion.

"Agreed". All memes aside, I'm a big ole fan of hers but when you have to stop and say your joke has layers (as seen in untucked) but you tell thorgy in the main challenge *you don't have to explain yourself, we get it in ep 4" (this is paraphrased btw lol), it's like ok

Girl, the explanation was part of the joke. Nude Entertainment Network is a clever joke in that it's a comment on how silly it is that nude means white people skin and how silly it is that there's a separate network for Black entertainment. I thought it needed the emphasis seeing as it didn't really get a reaction from the queens.

It's stand up comedy and I'm living for it.

I agree with you and I live for the overall awareness that Bob has brought so far in general, just personally I feel that she could give more credit to the viewers to figure it out on their own what the joke was about. But then again would I even be having this conversation if she hadn't said what she said?

I explain jokes all the time when I don't get the reaction I want and mostly it's me reading myself, like I'm not trying to discredit my audience, if a joke doesn't land then that's my bad not anyone else's. I obvs can't speak for Bob but if no one's laughing with me at my joke then I want them to at least laugh at me having to explain my joke.

Or cringe, because sometimes not laughing means the joke is not funny. Having the person explaining it assuming the other didn't get it is cringeworthy.

That's the "with" vs "at" thing. I don't mean that someone's suddenly going to think I'm hilarious now that I've explained myself. It's a tone thing - the self deprecating bit is kind of what I see in Bob doing her explanations. I don't see it as her insulting her audience, I see it as her making fun of herself. I'm obviously biased since I live for her type of humor, but I guess I just don't see the condescending thing that other people are getting from her.

Except it doesn't really come off that way though.. When you say "See, that joke had layers" it comes off as saying, "See, that joke was intelligent, so you should have laughed and found it clever." I'm not saying that's how he meant for it to come off, but really, if your joke doesn't land, it's best to just brush it off, let it go, and try again next time--not try to justify why it was funny.

That's you and that's good gurl but Bob has been advertising herself as a comedy queen to this point. Do comedy in that case instead of talking about it imo lol

Except when you have to explain jokes, they're usually just not really funny... I totally understood what he meant by the joke, and I think most of the queens did too--it just wasn't particularly funny.
