Off the top of my head;

Rooney, Fletcher, Vidic, Keane, Beckham, Ferdinand, Schmeichel, Park, Giggs, Gregg, Blanc, Irwin, Yorke, Charlton, Schweinsteiger, John O'Shea

I'm sure there's loads from the 70's and 80's that I don't know about.

I remember we had about 4-5 captains in the team at one stage.

Ferdinand (vice-captain)

Then Ronaldo left but was replaced by another captain, Valencia. Not to mention we also had another future England captain at the time - Danny Drinkwater :)

People like to talk about how Fergie would pull his players out of the national teams and whatnot - but in reality it always seemed to me that he encouraged them to be leaders for their national teams as well as at United. Sure, sometimes he might apply some pressure, but overall he thought it was beneficial for the club. The players would grow, neutrals would be more lenient to them, etc.

While not full time captain I know Jonny Evans took the captains armband for Northern Ireland in the past.

Bryan Robson, Frank Stapleton. Not sure about Irwin but Paul Mc grath might have captained Ireland at some stage

Mcgrath was after he left us, around that time we also had Wilkins who captained England, I know he was vice captain while at Utd but not sure if he was still with us when he was captain.
