Oh, that satisfaction of gettin' caught actin' stupid!

It seems she's posting on her facebook how "white culture" is now trying to victimize her for defending her heritage.

The logic is interesting. (Obviously I can't link to it, sadly)

Bonus Content: Her friend's professional job is a "Queer Educator" & studied Anthropology. lmao

More Bonus Content! I feel like at this point I should start charging for a Season Pass. I just got a threatening PM telling me if I don't take this post down, "They will fuck my life"

DLC Update #2: TayZonday has chimed in!

DLC Update #3: Proof this is not a staged event for her racial studies class

This is funny considering dreadlocks were worn by cultures all over the world the early Hindus, the Spartans, the Celts, Mesopotamian, Mongols, Huns, and many more cultures. This is in no form cultural appropriation. An actual form of cultural appropriation is what stoner culture did to reggae music.

Not just cultures but ALSO dogs. I'll just put this here

http://i.imgur.com/uLjix6W.jpg

https://www.reddit.com/r/Dreadlocks/comments/3jjoip/til_there_is_a_breed_of_dog_puli_with_dreads/

Edit: dog breed is a Komodor from Hungry

The dog in the picture is a Puli. Komodors are more like floor mops: http://i.imgur.com/7nt7rkk.jpg.

(And it even says 'Puli' in the link you provided...)

EDIT: also try Hungary in stead of Hungry.

Yes. It was popular all throughout Europe through most of history. So definitely not exclusively a black thing. Check it out

It even dates back to the Bible and before. Samson had seven "locks" [In the NIV they are called "braids"] that could not be cut or he loses his strength.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but wouldn't dreadlocks be the natural end result for almost all hair types without consistent washing/brushing?

You missed noting the second assault, when she also assaulted the person recording the first assault.

Are they going to press charges? I would. The evidence is irrefutable.

They should just try to get her kicked out of school. I wouldn't get the police involved.

Edit: She should lose her job and face the consequences.

Why not? You watched that video, right? She assaulted them. That's illegal. That's exactly what the law is for. It's why we invented these rules. Otherwise, you could just beat the crap out of her, and leave her bleeding and crippled for life, on the floor. That'd teach the angry bitch not to go around assaulting people for no reason. But now we have rules. So use them.

You know what, you're right. After watching it again she says something like "You put your hands on me" as in trying to frame it as if HE was the perpetrator. This kind of shit pisses me off to no end. I hate people like that. AND if it wasn't recorded, I wouldn't be surprised if HE would be the one to get in trouble and labelled a 'racist'.

The "why are you filming me..." felt so good to hear. That moment when she realized "she fucked up". How do people like this get/keep employment at universities?

Actually I had noticed that non-sequitar remark as well. It was like she was setting up to falsely charge him. I didn't bring it up though, as I thought it might sound over the top, and paranoid.

Here's what really pisses me off about that woman, and her freind. I understand that racism is a massive problem in America, and elsewhere. I get that institutionalized prejudice is deeply entrenched, and needs to be dismantled. But not every white person is an enemy, and not every black person is an angel.

What that woman and her kind is doing is handing powerful ammunition to the hate-mongers and regressive forces who promote disharmony, and dismiss all attempts at addressing these iniquities as simply "political correctness" without cause.

They sneeringly call people trying to enact any progress "social justice warriors," and people like her are simply impossible to defend. That woman probably just pushed hundreds of Republicans, who might have been wavering over their choice, directly into Trump's camp. People like her are the perfect excuse that those choads need to attack protesters who have legitimate complaints.

She certainly isn't helping her cause.

She isn't helping anyone, quite the opposite.

She is a bully plain and simple.

Is he making a Cherry Chocolate comeback?

The other fantastic little bit of irony is that she's a "photographer and videographer".

WHY ARE YOU FILMING THIS?!

she's a "photographer and videographer".

I'm Napoleon.

Probably because you culturally appropriated posting racist PM screenshots. My people did that first

Damn, really? That's so ...enlightened of them.

"They will fuck my life"

In a sexy way?

Find out if they're propositioning you.

She should start accusing people of cultural appropriation when she catches them actin' a fool. Wouldn't that be ironic.

I love how she started accusing him of putting his hands on her right before she realises it's being filmed, she was definitely ready to pull the pussy-pass and accuse him of assaulting her. What a cunt.

Holy shit! As a former student of SFSU, this kind of behavior is not terribly surprising. Misguided social vendettas are not uncommon at SFSU...

Her face when she sees the camera

Assault Battery. The word you're looking for is assault battery. (Thanks /u/stale_nuts)

actually, it's battery, the intentional unwanted offensive contact. assault is merely putting someone in apprehension of a battery.

Assault includes battery nearly everywhere, including the model penal code. Even states where it doesn't, people know what you mean. I really hate when people make this "correction."

I actually didn't know that. TIL

Assault isn't just apprehension in every state. I think you're getting criminal law and civil mixed up or something.

In California, criminal battery is "any willful and unlawful use of force or violence upon the person of another" and criminal assault is "unlawful attempt, coupled with a present ability, to commit a violent injury on the person of another"

So yes, this was a battery. But indeed, /u/stale_nuts was describing civil assault and battery.

I've never understood that response. It's not like assaulting the camera person is going to magically erase what was already captured.

That's the first time I've seen a white person with dreads win an argument. Hopefully the girl gets disciplined.

It's not even really dreads. It's just dirty, nappy hippy hair. The irony of her stopping him over "her culture" is palpable.

He's getting there. It takes time for then to tighten up into real dreads. His hair is in the awkward stage.

[–]Butthole__Pleasures 8ポイント9ポイント  (0子コメント)

the awkward stage

Isn't that every stage of a white guy with dreads?

Crybully is such an appropriate term for these racist morons. I can't wait until this blows up and she gets fired and publicly shamed. Abhorrent behavior.

"Stop touching me!"

Meanwhile she was preventing the person from attempting to leave a few seconds ago but still plays the "I'm innocent and you can't touch me" card.

People used to do that all the time in kindergarten.

Thank you for pointing this out.

I think the fact that she tried to frame the situation as if HE was assaulting her is the worst part of this altercation. What would have happened if there wasn't a camera?

And she had a smirk on her face the whole time.

The sad thing is there will be people that agree with her.

"Do not put your hands on me!"

Actively putting hands on another person

There are historic examples of European, Middle Eastern, Asian, and of course African cultures who wore their hair in dreadlocks. This girl really should have properly educated herself before she starts accusing people of cultural appropriation.

Polish plait for proof.

It's not even the case of education but of letting people do whatever the fuck they want with their fucking hair. Stupid assholes interfering other people's lives because of shitty excuses.

My idea. Who gives a fuck if a culture is appropriated (have to remember that word next time I play Scrabble)? The whole point is not being able to 'own' a culture. People will adopt habits, foods, looks from different cultures.

As a child, Thai food was unheard of in the countries I lived in (the Netherlands and Norway). Then, Thai immigrants came and took their food with them. Yum! So nowadays I'm committing the 'cultural appropriation' crime of eating Chicken Siam on the regular.

EDIT: Jeez... the Wikipedia entry on this is terrible, biased and lacks decent citations. It should be scraped. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_appropriation

Yeah excellent point actually.

Is she Faculty? I'm not looking for a name here btw, just wondering what her position is.

She represents the University in a 100% official capacity.

I will find it reassuring if she is not responsible for teaching students.

Staff can be anything: janitorial, foodservice, admissions, financial aid, legal, admin, groundscare, and over a dozen internal departments that students never see. They are typically much easier to dismiss than the Faculty who actually teach classes.

Woooow, that's abhorrent. Hope the school responds to the fact that their employees are committing hate crimes against students

Regardless of her fucking nonsense, above all else, she should NOT be putting hands on students there whatsoever. That's 100% inappropriate.

is anything coming of this? does the school know they have employees harassing students over haircuts?

she probably works for ASI, out student run organization in charge of events in that building, hardly a "100% official capacity". nor is she wearing any sort of ID that she works at state, so even if she was working for the school which all non-teaching faculty have, its obvious its not representative of the school

its obvious its not representative of the school

I didn't know all teachers wore ID's.

You didn't answer the question. Does she work in Student Services? The Registrar's Office? Operations? There are many moving parts in a University and to just say, "She represents them" is a very vague statement.

For example, I work at a University as a systems analyst. While I suppose I "represent the University" by being an employee, I really have no power to do anything when it comes to policy or procedure.

So if you CAN'T say what she does or think it would be too close to head-hunting, please say so instead of beating around the bush.

In what capacity? She looks like a student to me and I've seen no evidence to the contrary. The fact she's a cunt is not in doubt though.

i especially love the don't touch me after she won't stop touching him. honestly, this guy handled this pretty well. i know it's cliche to say i would knock her out, but i have a serious issue with people grabbing me. There definitely would have been a lot bigger issue if she grabbed me, and apparently she ripped that dudes bracelet off and threw it away.

Thats what she wants though. After which she'll run to the media about how a white man attacked her and she'll become a martyr. Being attacked is the professional victims dream come true

She's gotta be a mod on /r/blackladies. If you are unaware of that subreddit, it's on par with any other racist sub. They hate white people (sometimes referred to as "the devil") with dreads. They highly frown upon mixed race dating, at least in the replies I've read.

I'm half black and had to leave r/blackfellas and they're wayyyyy more tolerant. That should tell you something about r/blackladies

They seem more about just picking on people and using race as some sort of trump card to discredit anyone else's opinion. They have honestly taken everything in life, and somehow boiled it all down to overt racism and whites hating them.

My favorite was on some of the posters opinion, that white people only date black people to prove they aren't racist, which inadvertently makes them the most racist of all. To have a black friend just means you are using them as some sort of social game piece of some kind. Like some sort of racist fashion accessory.

Anyone that thinks like that all the time, has either a diagnosed or undiagnosed mental disorder. It's on par with the way a paranoid schizophrenic or a person with a severe borderline personality disorder thinks.

I would actually like to see the comments, if this video was posted (and allowed to stay up) on /r/blackladies.

If you framed the title as being the white guy was in the wrong, I'm sure it would remain.

I really wish I didn't know that existed. Now I'm gonna be reading it and getting pissed before bed.

Just remember that people are manipulative and stupid in all colors of the rainbow. It may very well be our most notable unifying trait, haha. Unity through racism. Sounds like a hallmark card.

What's worse are the "culturally sensitive" whiteys that pander to the black people claiming this bullshit. Talk about enabling shitty behavior.

See /u/p_iynx 's comment in this thread for instance.

https://www.reddit.com/r/blackladies/comments/3fs7pl/this_white_feminist_loved_her_dreadlocks_heres/

What a submissive idiot. Her hair didn't have some twisted history, like black face. It was just a hair style, more indicative to hippy stoner culture, than anything, within the last 50 years. This sort of behavior seems rooted in control and submission.

Thought about it, but I'm too lazy to start making accounts. Odds are they just shadow ban 99% of responses. Gotta be a clever troll.

A really odd pattern I've noticed on a lot of these subs, is that Asian racists have attached themselves to black SJW's. If you follow some of the people commenting or read their posts, you'll find many are often Korean or Japanese. I have no idea what that's about.

I'd imagine that it's because Asian men feel just as slighted as black women (when it comes to dating). Okcupid trends have showed that those 2 groups have it the hardest in terms of attention

Even if this was precisely the cause, nobody in that demographic would admit to it, nor accept it. However, it explains a lot. Wouldn't it all be hilarious if we were all too stupid to realize that every one of these movements was truly based on upping one's status for a chance at getting laid.

    Lol, that def sounds odd

Just find a vocal person commenting, browse their history, and you'll find that some of the extremely angry folks also post a lot in Asian subreddits, with the same tone. I've found at least 4, just briefly browsing. Maybe it was a fluke on my part?

However, even the comedian Margaret Cho recently just bombed a comedy show by calling out white people as privileged, and something about rapists, before people started walking out.

    The shit is going on?

There is a reason for the "angry" stereotype of this demographic

Well to take this stupid thought to its full conclusion, black/African girls shouldn't be straightening their hair for the same reasoning.

Btw, that white boy will look back and be all cringe about his outfit.

That's like fighting fire with gasoline. Clearly the chick had no interest in listening to anything the guy was saying.

He should be all cringe about a lot of things. His weird little conversation dance was unsettling. Along with the hair. And the outfit.

That being said, he should be allowed to look as douchey as he wants

CONVERSATION DANCE, yes! I was wondering what the fuck to call what he was doing.

African rain dance, just more cultural appropriation.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q9i7q1GNTw#t=0m15s

I agree. He's not hurting anyone.

The cultural appropriation thing is ridiculous. Sure, I can see how some things are offensive, but simply liking an aspect of another culture and participating (and in this case it's not even that) should be taken as a compliment. I'm not going to get pissed at a Jewish person for celebrating Christmas with me, or slap a cheeseburger out of an example I can't come up with's hand.

America is a gigantic clusterfuck of cultural appropriation, except it's actually just sharing, and it's beautiful.

I totally agree. Sometimes it's nice to have your thing but it is better to have our thing. I'd rather see there be a cross cultural sharing. Maybe someday we will have that.

I think we already do have that in the real world. If you want to park a Camaro on your lawn I'm not saying shit.

He is being confronted about the way he looks in public. Im thinking he is probably feeling a little anxious/nervous. I know I would feel uncomfortable.

She's a racist. She had a gut reaction to seeing a "white boy" wearing dreadlocks. It's a visceral reaction not connected to logic. The same thing might have happened if a white guy from 1950's Alabama saw a black guy holding hands with a white girl. We've been telling black people for decades now that they are still an oppressed minority under the boot heels of white America. We gun them down in the streets with impunity everyday, remember? Is it any surprise that some black people grow to hate their white "oppressors"?

I can't believe how much college has changed. I graduated not that long ago (2012) and this whole regressive left movement was just not a thing. Glad I got out before I was banned from listening to hip-hop for being white.

Reddit is only going to show you the worst of anything when it comes to any kind of progressive or conservative movements. Rational stuff doesn't get upvotes/views/attention. Don't confuse the real world with the small section of crazies Reddit exposes you to.

I go to a State School in California. Reddit's version of college isn't my experience, nor anyone else's I know. I doubt you'd notice any difference if you went back to school nowadays.

I go to UCSD. I think all UCs are pretty liberal and there are definitely people like the students in this video. I haven't seen it to this extreme, but BLM activists did shut down the 5 freeway so there's that.

Don't think this is normal for SFSU either. I go to SFSU and it is a very diverse school, every place gets its bad seed and sadly this seems to be on of ours.

I graduated in 2005 and our LGBQ organization raised a stink and got our chemical engineer association removed as an official school club (thus losing our funding and use of a campus room) after we held a Maxim party. They didn't like the women being 'exploited' by wearing skimpy outfits, implying these women need to be protected and didn't not, in fact, do this of their own free will.

We also got under their skin after we signed up a Motor Boating Club after losing our Chem Eng association status and wrote "Motor Boating is an activity everyone on campus can enjoy" on our petition for club status. We actually got approved for funding on the provision we bought a motor boat (they were upset we didn't actually have a boat and figured that should be reason for being denied), so we bought a cheap rowboat on Ebay and put a shitty motor on the back.

We didn't have SJW labels or anything but this was in a Canadian university and there were definitely "I am offended thus you can't do XYZ" types sharting all over everyone, even though our program was a good 50/50 gender split and the Chem Eng women were on our side on this issue.

Do these people really think that we're going to create equality and respect for different races by parceling every race trait and forcing each one to stick to those that are original to each race? I mean, isn't that the goal? What world are they creating? I don't know. I'm going to keep pushing for bringing people together and they can keep pushing for this garbage. We'll see who wins. I'm going to go listen to the Graceland album by Paul Simon now.

What a good fucking album. Me too!

And yeah, I think the regressive left want segregation. In a way it's a good thing. They clearly don't have any real problems to fight and rebel against. At some point I hope they will see how stupid and pointless it is and work on self improvement instead of harassing others.

As a black man myself, I hope this girl gets the punishment she deserves. She is giving fuel to racist groups with her ignorant attitude.

What's especially ridiculous is that, as she's black and playing up the whole 'African culture' thing... holy shit that is a fucking can of racist whoopass just waiting to be opened all over her.

Something about AIDS, genocide, necklacing, and child soldiers.

I'm hoping this goes viral. Like is her bead so far up her own ass? You live in America, in San Francisco, integration of other cultures will constantly continue to occur. And if you get offended because someone takes in stuff from other cultures, societies, or ethnic groups you must be the biggest fucking idiot to walk the face of the earth.

We are blessed with diversity, and the freedom to express ourselves.

As a black man, I agree. You a white/asian/mexican/islander/mix person wants to have dreads and listen to Rasta music? go for it. You a black person who wants to listen to pagan metal and have a spiked mohawk? rock on dude.

I wonder which culture invented the University...

It was actually the middle east so bad example x.x Most math studies originated from there. Scientists & Mathematicians from all around the world traveled there to study.

But I get what you're saying & I agree! First degree-awarding university was in Italy!

Plato "invented"/created a school (The Academy) in Athens.. Not sure if it was the first university or even the first school per say, but there didn't exist such things in western civilization before then.

Should tell her she can culturally appropriate AIDS.

as a former student of sfsu, there are a lot of guys who look just like him. i dont know why she had to go after him. i went there during the budget cuts during the recession. back in my day (just a few years ago kk), we all stood together to question the system itself. these days i think people dont know where to point their fingers.

i currently go to state, and the administration has had the deans of the other schools more or less turn on the college of ethnic studies. the CoES is experiencing some pretty big budget shortfalls and there is a whole lotta debate about if the administration supports the CoES fairly, especially for as much as they tout it for being the first CoES in the nation.

What do you mean by turn on them? I don't know anything about the situation

San Francisco State University campus I assume. Unless you meant specific building.

That's what I meant. I read it in the description after I posted the question. Thank you.

If you think it's ok to film police officers for everyone's safety, then why assault the camera man when he's filming you as you grab someone?

        Hypocrisy.

She's appropriating my culture by speaking english

For sure. I love how this happened on the first day back from Spring break. Not that many people are talking about it right now though.

Show it to everyone you know and they will be.

I see this dude on campus all the time, always just got his chill earthwave vibe goin on. I don't see the problem with his hair, he's just doin his thing. I don't understand why anyone would care what anyone else's hair looks like in the first place though..

        "Why are you filming this?"

        "For everyone's safety."

What he meant was "because you're a bitch."

Should tell her that she's not allowed to use technology because electricity, the semiconductor, and cars are white people's culture.

        Stupid fucking cunt

I really really hope this blows up and this lady gets canned. Although that'd probably only end up reinforcing her opinions.

The dude from Hackers and the Scooby Doo movie? Matthew Lillard is his name.

noo, this guy was shorter and way cuter. he had surfer length blond hair, big pouty lips, button nose, and blue eyes. he always played the bad character, but never the main role.
