I think he would be a great addition to squad. Him on the right, Martial on the left and Rooney up top sounds scary.

Please explain. Elaborate, why James is better than Gotze. You know what they both seem like to me? A couple decent seasons as kids, one good World Cup, and they've done nothing for 2 years, both of them. Why is James so much better than Gotze, please someone explain this to me, I've been asking this for a while now.

James was phenomenal last season, so I am not sure where you're getting "he has done nothing for 2 years" from, because he was one of the best players at RM.

James, as a CAM, is one of the best in the world, and he is only 24. He can control tempo, his finishing from outside and inside the box is superb, and his passing, either from the CAM position or crossing from the wing, has generally been crucial.

If we have a chance sign James, we most definitely should take it. I believe James will be leaving RM in the summer. He is young, and he wants to play in the #10 role, which, when healthy, is occupied by Bale.

Had a lot of potential - shouldn't have moved to Bayern. It really stunted his development.

I think he could come good but I think it'll take him a while to get back into it.

I also think he'll sign for Dortmund or stay at Bayern under Ancelotti rather than join the PL

That's the thing though. When you go to Bayern, you should be able to fight and earn your spot, beat the top competition. If he can't do that, then he's not as special as people may think. Messi wasn't handed his spot, he earned it, same with Ronaldo, any great player.

It's a gamble. Barely seen first team football this season and no indication of how he'd fare in the PL. Plus he's not a natural winger so wouldn't really want us to invest in him if we end up sticking him at RW.

He's always been really average on the wings.

I think Gotze is Mata all over again but he's a worse playmaker, I really do not want him.

James, Griezmann, Zlatan etc are the sort of players we should be looking at to boost our front 4. Gotze is not in their category

He'll be a 40m+ fee, massive wages and we won't be able to get rid of him like we've gotten stuck with Mata.

What is the difference between Gotze and James, I've been asking this question and no one has been able to answer it. He's quite literally in the same boat as James. One good World Cup, and they've both done nothing since.

Done nothing since? In James' first season at Real Madrid, 29 league games, 13 goals, 13 assists. This season, 13 appearances (and 6 sub appearances) 5 goals, 6 assists, only played at #10 once.

Great player but honestly way overrated and lazy. He never fulfilled his potential considering even Pep thought he could be his new false 9. I don't think he is capable playing at the wing any more especially in Premier. James Rodriguez way better option than him.

I thought it was a pretty open secret Pep wanted Neymar, Bayern refused to pay the money and he reluctantly took Gotze as the compromise?

That's so unrealistic. Neymar would likely cost £150 million if not more. Bayern will never pay such a fee. Rumors were we bid £140 million for Neymar, and it was turned down by Barca.

He means when Gotze was bought, they were both bought in the 2013 window. As in Bayern could have either spent about £70 million on Neymar or £30 million on Gotze (not sure of exact fees). However, I'm pretty sure Pep has almost no control of transfers at Bayern which is one reason he's leaving.

On the face of it as in they're both CAMs that play a little on the RW? They're saying James is of a higher skill level, able to beat a player easier, score more goals etc. I can't really comment in all honesty as I haven't seen anywhere near enough of either of them to actually compare them.

He's kinda ineffective on the wings as we've seen so far in his career, I think he will only move if we can guarantee him a spot in a central position. It would be like having 2 Matas

Other than a good display in a World Cup, and hype, he's nothing. A talent, but at his age, nothing special. The exact same as James, yet some people think he's god.
