Hi booboo.

Anyone have any similar experiences?

In terms of seeing a close friend become delusional, yes. It's a very serious and complex issue. Certainly not something to be resolved through anonymous internet forums.

If you are really concerned about your friend's mental health, you might want to consider informing a third party, but that's a choice that you'll have to make.

Is this the proverbial "deal with the devil?"

No. Not everything that David Icke says is false, but as far as his theories about reptilians/artificial moon etc. - he is simply full of shit and trying to sell you his books/DVDs so he doesn't have to get a real job like everyon else.

Again, please take great care of yourself and, if you can, your friend.

Thank you for this. I do think David Icke is generally full of shit, but I don't deny that people have had strikingly similar experiences. My friend is surrounded by some really good friends and family members, and he vocalized his intent of talking to a professional (therapist). I just find it odd that people report very similar experiences, and am also wondering if maybe it is a personification (lizardification, if you will) of something that resides deep in the human psyche.

I see that you edited your comment to include -

This is an interesting topic and very worthy of discussion.

I'm pretty sure that reptilian archetypes have had (and continue to have) an enormous effect on the human psyche.

But this is very different from David Icke asserting that there is an ontological truth to his delusions about paedophilic reptilian masons.

I think you might be interested in Carl Yung -

David Icke is full of shit in a sense that he tries to sell you his crap but the fact is we live in a multidimensional world where other dimensional beings do exist. So, it's plausible what your friend saw was real or just his inner demons eating at him. You also have to take into account that there's been reports of these kinds of sightings as well from normal people so he wouldn't be the first. But, me personally Ive seen an alien during meditation and he didn't seem very nice to me...So If I were your friend I'd try to get in touch with their inner self before going outward to the unknown to test these beings.

That's very interesting. He did mention a lot about facing his demons, and attempting to expel darkness from within. I agree with you about David Icke, like I mentioned to booper_trooper, I only brought him up because I didn't want to go into full detail about the theory, so people familiar with him will know what I'm talking about. It's just weird because he seemed to be fine with his exploration, but it's like this was the tipping point that really got to him.

Yeah sounds about right. Have you ever seen the documentary that talks about the life of bhudda(real name shidartra)?

Basically Sidhartra went through something similar where he faced off with the god of desire, "Mara" and was basically told that he would be ruler of India if he stayed home in his kingdom. But he went out instead to find the true meaning of human suffering and to find his inner truth. Same thing could be said about Jesus when he faced the "devil" and fought off temptation.

I had to read that book for my english class, senior year, loved it.

I apologise if my language seemed harsh, but I think that any rational person would agree that David Icke himself is either -

A. (if he really believes what he says) A delusional, borderline psychotic.

OR

B. (if he doesn't believe what he says) A conman.

Either way he's a very rich man...

My friend is surrounded by some really good friends and family members

That's great to hear!

All the very best of luck to you and your friend.

No don't worry, I completely understand. I prefer straight answers than anything else. I only mentioned David Icke because I didn't want to go into full details about the reptilian-humanoid theory, so anyone familiar with him would understand what I'm talking about. I've read erowid reports of people who have had similar experiences, but without the long-term effects. Again, thank you for your input, it is much appreciated. I can only hope that he manages to ground himself in one way or another, but he does say he feels better everyday. Also, when he's not thinking about it, or at least not talking about it, we have pretty normal conversation about dating, drinking, just regular shooting-the-shit, and we jam together occasionally. Quite the talented individual, would be a shame to watch it waste away.

I hear you.

Your friend is fortunate to have people (yourself, amongst others) looking out for him / her.

:)

I like how you put 'full of shit' in bold, like your opinion is fact and people will be stupider if they do not think the same as you.

Anything is possible. I suggest some DMT and then calling out to any draconians with your 3rd eye.

Uh, I would not advise this...

You never know what might come knocking in your front door.

I suggest some DMT and then calling out to any draconians with your 3rd eye.

Surely these thoughts and/or perceptions must be real...

I like how you put 'full of shit' in bold,

I apologise. You're right.

It was a fallacious appeal... an appeal to bold text.

(Damn, did it again!)

I suggest some DMT and then calling out to any draconians with your 3rd eye.

Is English your second language? If so 'WELL DONE'!

I agree with what you said about Icke but come on. Are you really that close minded about the world around you? Do you really believe that the world is flat?

Are you really that close minded about the world around you?

Sorry, I'm not sure what you are trying to infer. Could you elaborate?

Do you really believe that the world is flat?

No. What has made you think that I do?

Sorry, I'm not sure what you are trying to infer. Could you elaborate?

That his friend needs medical help because it's something outside your own little bubble.

No. What has made you think that I do?

It's something close minded people only think about. I guess analogies are too hard for you?

Hey, no need to be aggressive here. I would like to state that I have been through some "tough times" myself, dealing with depersonalization, derealization, your typical existential crisis. I decided to ride out the storm myself and it was the toughest thing I've ever done in my life. I can easily see how someone might want to seek professional help if they are having trouble integrating things into reality, and I don't see why it should be shunned or viewed in a negative way. I don't think he said he should seek medical help because it was something outside his own (booper_trooper's) bubble, I think he said it because it was something outside of my friends bubble, which is completely rational and understandable. Also understand that you are not articulating your point clearly, and we don't really know what you're trying to get at, but you should also be respectful of other peoples opinions. I thought this subreddit existed for people to share experiences and knowledge to help better understand our own experiences.

The reason why I'm against "professional" help is because they're going to try and drug him up with crap that won't work or make him worse.

but you should also be respectful of other peoples opinions

Yeah but calling your friend crazy isn't very respectful...

I thought this subreddit existed for people to share experiences and knowledge to help better understand our own experiences.

The guy I was talking to has zero experiences with this and just wants your friend drugged by this "professional".

I see what you mean about the drugs, but my friend is well informed about the subject and will not do anything he is not comfortable with. I believe he just wants someone to talk it thought with and rationalize the experience. I also believe there is a difference between experiencing delusions, and allowing those delusions to dictate your life. My friend is literally delusional, as in he is having these experiences without attempting to induce them and they are becoming invasive in his every day life. He straight up told me "i'm being delusional", so I don't think it is disrespectful in any way. I'm not writing off my friend as a nut job, just trying to approach the situation in a mature way. I am not discrediting him in any way. He is a psychonaut, and thus is the life a psychonaut. It is a sacrifice we all make as we delve into the unknown depths of our psyches. I can really see where you're coming from, but I would rather you offered advice over criticizing others.

I see what you mean about the drugs, but my friend is well informed about the subject and will not do anything he is not comfortable with.

If he's well informed then he should call out for help from higher beings...to whatever he believes in be it Jesus or Bhudda.

I believe he just wants someone to talk it thought with and rationalize the experience.

Well, like I said before Ive had an grey pop up infront of me while meditating and it was testing me basically. I felt tremendous amount of energy coming from it and I really didn't like it at all so I called for help from a higher power. After I did that w/e I saw disappeared/ instantly and I was able to return back to normal(which was hard since I was already in a state of mind somewhat stuck during the encounter).

and they are becoming invasive in his every day life.

Whatever he made contact with fears him spiritually apparently... Which is why those things appeared to him in the first place.

but I would rather you offered advice over criticizing others.

Fair enough. Just read what I said above and think about it before giving it to him since we all have our experiences that my differ from one to another.

Don't listen to the conspiracy nut (CowzGoesMoo) booboo.

All the best to you and your friend.

What "conspiracies" do I believe? I already said David Icke and Alex Jones are full of shit so why exactly am I being pegged as one?

OK.. ok. :(

Firstly I sincerely apologise for winding you up. :(

But you have to admit that you did 'come at me bro'...

What "conspiracies" do I believe?

It's called projection. It's a symptom of the medium we are using to communicate. You projected onto me and I projected back.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme

I already said David Icke and Alex Jones are full of shit so why exactly am I being pegged as one?

Anybody who thinks Jones and Icke are full of shit is a friend of mine.

But be careful with the advice you feel the need to give booboo. This maybe Reddit, but you bear responsibilty for influencing others through opinion. If booboo's friend is really having mental problems then he needs to be treated with the greatest care, by people who are qualified to give it. (Not me, not you).

Firstly I sincerely apologise for winding you up. :(

The only person here that was winded up was you.

You projected onto me and I projected back.

Says the guy who's winded up over dumb stuff that has no clue what he's talking about.

Anybody who thinks Jones and Icke are full of shit is a friend of mine.

I'm not your friend buddy.

But be careful with the advice you feel the need to give booboo.

Yes, you should ask yourself this a few times before giving out advice to him again since you have 0 experience with this.

If booboo's friend is really having mental problems then he needs to be treated with the greatest care,

Again, what makes you an expert on this and think that he has mental problems because he sees things that you can't comprehend with that tiny mind? Like I said before people use to think that the world was flat and they were way off. ;)

Damn. I feel like the 'Waco Kid' -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ITqS2uTPD4

Well I held out my hand in friendship and you bit my fingers. OUCH!

Is that you Jan Irvin?

You know... all perception is illusion. Which makes the perception that all perception is an illusion, an illusion...

Nice try, reptilian overlord. :p

He's a troll bro.

Damn it booboo!

You've worked me out!

I am a reptilian shape-shifting mega-mason from planet X!!!

NOW EVERYBODY BOW-DOWN!!!

...AND OPEN YOUR WALLETS!!!

(buy my books/DVDs/subscribe to my website, etc)

:p

I'm still unsure what you are trying to communicate.

That his friend needs medical help because it's something outside your own little bubble.

Are you seriously suggesting that if someone is suffering from paranoid delusions they shouldn't seek medical help?

It's something close minded people only think about. I guess analogies are too hard for you?

Sorry, but what analogies?

Are you suggesting that shape-shifting reptilians is a sound analogy?

An analogy for what?

I'm intrigued...
