We've got to take the guns away from law enforcement ASAP. They're a danger to themselves.

You look at Concealed Carry holders, they're crime rate is below the general population AND LEOs. LEOs are out of control, let's take their guns until they've proven they can be safe with them again.

burning farms and property isn't a war crime

I guess it depends on how good your attorneys are: Geneva Convention IV Article 53 "Any destruction by the Occupying Power of real or personal property belonging individually or collectively to private persons ... is prohibited"

Sherman didn't just fight on the opposing side, he decimated the south. Burned out poor farmers, hunted down and executed military aged men out of uniform. He was worse than Milosevic. And you want to put a statue of him in the backyards of the descendants of those he ravaged?

That is much worse than what these idiots want. They want to tear down the statues of the defenders of their own town because they were racist and supported slavery (in some cases). Newsflash, everyone was racist back then by today's standards. Slavery would have ended without a war that took more American lives than all the wars both prior and since, and was already on the way out around the world, where it had been commonplace for centuries and was colorblind when it came to those impacted.

It should. They should be up in arms trying to erase the history of New Orleans - that is what makes it New Orleans.

I would agree, but wasn't sure. I mean, if I'm on a road trip and my options are McDonald's or Applebees, its a no-brainer for Applebees, but Vegas probably has some of the highest quality restaurants in the country that are so close together. Eating high class food is my 3rd or 4th favorite part of visiting ;-)

The Villagio

No they didn't, really? That's hilarious.

The one at the Venetian looks nicer in person than this photo, but that probably is not a fair comparison.

White guy here, everyone in my office is white (are we racist?), and once a week our favorite meal is the gas station fried chicken down the street. It was ranked #1 in Charlotte recently, and its a gas station. It's amazing.

That is a misinformed view - especially back then solid blue collar work was highly valued and they did pretty good. He died better off than others, but it was more a function of his abnormal savings habit.

Even today, in some pockets of America manufacturing is highly valued. My town has an excellent program that introduces high school kids into 3 year apprenticeship programs that earns them a certificate. Its modeled after the more common program in Germany. A lot these kid are ahead of the curve by 5-10 years in earnings potential than their peers who went the college route (especially ones who honestly were better suited for a different life path).

I also find your dislike of "upper management" interesting whenever I hear that point of view. I own my company - there would be no employees without me. They'd simply be somewhere else working - so I try to compensate them better than all their alternatives so they hang around. You think "upper management" are exploiters - the us vs them attitude only works when you're intentionally trying to divide and conquer, and upper management is not typically the group to employ this strategy...

Edit: grammar (us blue bloods don't like a record of our grammatical errors viewable by the peasants)

I'm curious - do you think that is because more Republicans have family members who serve in our military? Or do you believe that when people say "support our troops" it means they are in favor of war mongering permawar? Or some other reason?

I'm genuinely curious, not a trap. I'm definitely someone who proudly supports our troops, send gifts to a friend's son who is currently in the Army, gave money to vet charities (but I gibe a lot more to education charities) and did several fundraiser events for vets (I.e. 5k) last year. But I'm not a Republican and never even considered it as a political stance in any way. My comment on your comment even earned me two down votes (which I save and trade in for valuable prizes), but it honestly is confusing to me that someone aligns the Republican party with Support our Troops - they are the ones most likely to put them in harms way, though the democrats have maintained the permawar too.

The government shouldn't be mandating wages anymore than they should be mandating bathroom etiquette. Both sides of the "issues" are leaning on the government to solve a problem - and I'm guessing there was no problem to solve in the first place. I've never wondered or checked anyone's sexual organs or orientation in a public bathroom. I likely never uttered a word or looked anyone in the eye after sharing that brief little moment with them.

It probably had something to do with the group that was so pro-confusing-gender-bathroom-usage was led by a convicted child molester. It was all over the news the week before. Not sure you want to stand on his side of the aisle.

But both bills are stupid. Our state legislature should not be passing laws on bathroom usage at all. People rely on the government to solve too many problems, and non-problems.
