Oh yeah it's obvious but at the same time you have to prove beyond reasonable doubt. While I am confident he was being a perve I don't think I could say beyond reasonable doubt he was. Anyway hopefully they find more evidence and they probably will.

You go vigilante when the police are literally so corrupt or useless or abusive that you will never see justice.

If you're a raped woman in a village in rural India, and the "village elders" threaten you with jail if you make a complaint, that's when you band together with your village sisters and lynch the guy.

In Australia, no so much. The police do actually take most crimes seriously.

    It could depend on the confidence they have that they have the right person? In this case, without an admission and pending examination of the hard drives, there is still a chance the guy is innocent (or at least that there isn't enough evidence for a conviction).
