Happy spring everyone! Just a regularly-scheduled update from your local mod team. Thanks for the ongoing modmail feedback -- /r/toronto is a better place thanks to your suggestions! Some notes:

• Our very own /u/ink_13 has put together a springtime banner update stitched together from his own photography at the end of the Leslie St. spit.

• We'd love submissions for a summertime banner -- and it doesn't necessarily have to be a skyline pic! /u/ink_13 is hard at work polishing a theme update that means the requisite dimensions are a bit up in the air right now, but shoot us a modmail and he'll be more than glad to get back to keep you in the loop.

• /u/blackbeatsblue has agreed to join us in modding /r/Toronto. He undoubtedly improves our collective musical taste and was a unanimous first choice that we're delighted to welcome to the team, so long as he continues to regale us with his travels and musical recommendations.

• Rule 9 has been updated to explicitly also cover fundraising and vote-begging -- most of us were surprised to realize it wasn't there already, so you shouldn't notice any difference as a result.

• Our rule enforcement policy has been warn-3days-7days-perma, with mod discretion to escalate punishment immediately in cases of particularly egregious infractions. While standardizing our enforcement has been a tremendous success, we realize that this process might eventually lead to us unreasonably banning people on a permanent basis if their infractions were spread over a sufficiently long period of time. As a result, effective immediately, anyone who has not received a warning or temporary ban in the past six months will "reset" to zero on the warn-3-7-perma scale. Hopefully the creation of this "statute of limitations" will balance and reward those who make a genuine effort to follow the rules without reducing their punitive effect, however we'll certainly be monitoring its effect in case further evaluation is necessary.

We've taken advantage of this opportunity to better explain /r/toronto's rules while keeping the sidebar concise -- stay tuned, we're hoping a cleaned-up sidebar makes it into the next update!
