Finally! A skyline without the CN Tower cut out! Looks much better.

I wonder, can the font of TORONTO at the top be changed to the TTC font, or the font of the Toronto sign? Or even Futura which is similar to the TTC font?

[–]ink_13Cabbagetown [スコア非表示]  (3子コメント)

Not easily, I'm afraid. Reddit's CSS tools don't let us use custom fonts, and not everyone has Futura installed.

Congratulations, u/blackbeatsblue!

I've always thought of r/postpunk and r/TorontoAnarchy as great incubators for future r/toronto moderators.

/r/postpunk for dealing with meaningless reports, and /r/torontoanarchy for having a sense of humour.

/u/ink13 using his own photo as a banner is another example of mod facism and a breach of our democratic rights. I demand a full step down of the modding team, 2 of your daughters and 4 goats.

Rule 14: No threats of violence involving ungulates. There's a grandfathered exception for Llamas, but only in threads tagged to Scarborough. You have been warned.

Skip the daughters and go for 6 goats instead, there isn't much difference and you'll have 6 of them.

How about adding a rule to cut down on bullshit advertising seeping into the sub?

...or mods turning on and off their mod-flair at will.

Please elaborate on both points!

the stupid fucking baseball hat bullshit popping up every couple days.

and i quite often see YOUR posts without modflair.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Care to link?

and i quite often see YOUR posts without modflair.

We have to specifically designate our individual posts with modflair. It involves two additional clicks every single time, it's not something that can be automatically turned on and off subreddit-wide.

Like most subs, we modflair when acting in an "official as mod" capacity, and don't when we're just posting as a member of the community.

Then you're obviously not paying attention to the sub. I can't be bothered to waste my time digging to look for it, but there's a user that's posting as neweracaps or something like that, and literally every one of their posts is a link to their website or a specific product (the green 'st patricks day' jays hats etc). There are others as well.

As for 'acting in an "official as mod" capacity'.... maybe you should be identifying to the community at all times that you are a mod. Every other sub that I take part in seems capable of that, here it looks like your trying to hide it.

[–]blackbeatsblueBay Street Corridor[M] [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

There is a rule for that. (9), also reddit-wide.

But mod-flair is supposed to be indicative as to whether it's "official" or personal.

.or mods turning on and off their mod-flair at will.

These are also our personal accounts and we don't always make comments to do with moderation duties.

You should still be identifying yourselves to the community as a mod.

[–]blackbeatsblueBay Street Corridor [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

We respect the community to distinguish the difference on their own. We're members as much as you are, and want to engage. It would be bullshit if every single post we made was "as a mod".

The distinguishing is reserved for when we're forced to act as mods. Ideally we'd never have to.

That's clearly a picture of toronto in the summer.

Something for us to aspire to!

[–]Zombie_John_Strachan [スコア非表示]  (10子コメント)

Very minor thing, but perhaps add please/thank you when you call out rule violations? Here's a recent example.

Maybe add "Please respect the community rules" or something a bit less harsh.

The comment being replied to was up for two hours, had a score of -14, and consisted of "Unoriginal cunt". I know that that just happens to be the example you chose, but IMHO there's nothing harsh about being direct about the violation and punishment.

[–]Zombie_John_Strachan [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

Not suggesting it was the wrong call.

Oh no, I didn't for a second think that you were. It's just that (a) there's a lot of crap, much of it incredibly rude or racist, and there's point in padding it with politeness, (b) I disagree that being direct is harsh, and (c) we're volunteers who already spend enough time modding without taking the time to fluffen a basic rule violation. A few times a week someone will generally respond with an "Ooops, sorry!" note that always gets a polite variant of "No worries, thanks!" in response.

[–]ur_a_idietThe Bridle Path [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

Huh. I wonder what that guy's problem was. Vaginas don't have to be original to be fun.

Will you elaborate on why that might be something to consider?

[–]ur_a_idietThe Bridle Path [スコア非表示]  (4子コメント)

While we're on that train:

It's poor sentence form to write "3 day ban." It should be "Three-day ban."

EDIT: dont ban me for speaking the truth u facists

[–]Xert[S] [

Are you /u/craaackle's hubby!?

LOL my husband would be so fucking offended by that. If he even knows who idiet is.

[–]Xert[S] [

You mean idiet's shenanigans aren't the subject of your nightly pillowtalk?

...what kind of a married couple talks to each other?

I think we'll have to remove this conversation under rule 7 ;)
