As someone who's never been in the away end of a United game. I can imagine it's fairly different because it's only really the hardest of fans that go. No tourists that's for sure.

Well you have to be a season ticket holder for 3 years to even apply I think so yeah your right, its only long term fans

You couldn't get them through the club no, you'd have to buy them off a reseller

I've had my season ticket for 2 years now, can't wait for the 17/18 season when I can apply for away games

There are tourists in the away section. There are for example houndred of norwegians with season tickets at OT, travelling over almost every week to watch us play and also on a lot of away games. They are hardcore fans aswell for sure but also tourists at the same time. I'm from Norway and I know plenty of people here with season tickets who also go to most away games. There are lots of tourists with insane passion for the club who spend the majority of their income on United games

I wouldn't call them tourists in the same sense as what I meant. That's pretty admirable though.

The club allocates a higher priority for away tickets to longer standing supporters who have season tickets and regularly purchase tickets to cup matches etc.

So you don't really get day trippers or tourists in the away end, but more true supporters.

I think it depends on the match tbh. I don't get to go to too many games (live in Canada) but I've gone to a few, both at home and away.

I sit in the Stretford End when at OT and the atmosphere is always fun. The Hawthorns was obviously smaller so less people but it's more intense. Sat at Eastlands before the repairs and that was the best atmosphere by far.

The match day itself is most enjoyable for home matches in my op because of the number of united fans. Get there early, head to the Bishop Blaize and have a few pints before kick off. It's hard because if you want to go to a rival's ground then you can't exactly be out and about wearing united shirts.

I've been to around 20 in the past few years, last one being Anfield last March. The main difference is the atmosphere as you'd imagine, basically non stop singing no matter what the score. The atmosphere at OT is good but only for big games. Also most of the fans have been going for 15-20 years+ but there's a few younger fans like me who usually have to pay over face value to get a ticket. Best stadium I've been is probably St James' Park and the worst would be Fratton Park as it's not really a stadium.
