Currently reading Mieroop on "Philosophy before the Greeks" during my leisure reading. The title is awful in that it reminds one of overly zealous revisionist historians trying to "save" pre/non-Greek populations from charges of being unphilosophical, via all sorts of torturous logic and over-reading scant evidence. Given that the author has previously lambasted such practices, this is pretty ironic.

It's actually one of the most fascinating books I've read 2016, a very good discussion of Babylonian epistemology on a case by case basis. Though, as a Classicist, there are elements here and there that cause my brow to rise slightly, it's a brilliant book and one I recommend.
