Can anyone enlighten me as to why we seem to have this huge aversion to actually taking a shot? It seems that any chance we get, we just pass it sideways or backwards again, never taking the first chance we get?

I was at OT on Thursday when we played Liverpool and the frustration from the fans surrounding this was extremely apparent.

Most likely the way LVG trains the players? He's probably forced them to only play safe and if they take a shot from distance, he makes them feel bad for giving up possession if they miss.

There was an article that came out a while ago saying that LVG actually highlighted in training when a player missed a shot. I don't know if this is true but the amount of pressure you put on a player because of this is enormous and it makes them feel scared to shoot and lose possession.

This is true for Falcao last season. There were a number of games where he would miss a half chance, and the camera close up would show his face being absolutely gutted because it was probably the only chance he'd get on the day.
