If Fellaini doesn't start i'll put £50 on united

Aside from the elbows, one of our best players on Thursday. Such a scapegoat.

he just doesn't suit the system we're trying to play imo

Gets played out of position constantly.

While I agree with your point to an extent he was still good on Thursday. 1st half in particular he was great at winning possession and offloading it to the wings. Considering its not his natural position he did very well and for me was one of our better players.

The fact that he's playing that position over the likes of Schneiderlin is absolutely not his fault, he's doing what he's told.

Poor Fellaini always getting picked on because he looks like Bambi on ice. He is without a shadow of doubt the least technically gifted footballer to grace the epl. I can't remember one person who has less control with or without the ball. True he is played out of position and done very well for Everton up front so mismanagement plays its part; but my god he is the biggest con artist around to get payed for that level of ability.

Least technically gifted player to grace the 'EPL'? What the fuck are you on mate?! Ludicrous. Not even the least technically gifted player in our squad, have you actually followed Premier league football beyond the last 2 weeks of populist scapegoating?

Edit: if people seriously think Fellaini is anywhere near the least technically gifted players to have played in the premier league - you need a head check and an education. 25 years of football. You probably haven't even heard of some of the teams.

I really wouldn't mind him playing in cf with our normal forwards playing on either side of him, he doesn't fit well when in a midfield 3

I agree he's not a United quality centre mid, or player in general. But he gets hated on every game we lose, even when he's one of our better players. Reminds me of the Rooney hate earlier in the season, even though Rooney is arguably our best all round player

[–]WszystkoZajeteWelcome to Old Trafford, Anthony Martial! 3

Yep he played well against Liverpool, let's just forget all these shit performances he put on through the season.

or the fact that he wouldn't make it into any of the teams that have made it to the CL QFs.

I have a feeling not entirely backed by rationale that we'll win this.

Elsewhere...

Arsenal won 2-0 against Everton away.

Chelsea host West Ham

Leicester go to Palace.

Southampton host Liverpool tomorrow.

Tottenham host Bournemouth tomorrow.

Highest we can climb is back to 5th, within a point of City in 4th, needing a Chelsea victory for that.

We could drop to 7th with a defeat, below the winner of Southampton v Liverpool, on GD.

Need Chelsea to get a winner!

[–]LordAntoineVan Nistelrooy 3

Welp...not looking forward to this. Bring it on!

I'm strangely optimistic for this game, based on nothing other than City's injuries at the back.

I shouldn't get excited though because this team will just murder my soul as they usually do.

Please drop Lingard for Memphis. Lingard is such a nothing player, it's incredible how he's actually a constant in this team. Also maybe, just maybe, we have a midfield that's played together and has some chemistry. Carrick and Fellaini look like they don't even speak the same language. Martial should play up top next to Rashford and just chase after long balls on the counter. Otamendi is bound to make a mistake.

Fuck, I'm negative. I just want a win.

Yeah, a lot of the teamsheet focus has been (quite rightly) on central midfield. But I just want to see Memphis start more games than he has done.

Derby, Lingard guaranteed to start imo, unfortunately.

[–]LordAntoineVan Nistelrooy 2

I feel Carrick will start, preferably in place of Fellaini but more likely to be in place of Mata. I wouldn't mind a Schneidi/Carrick combination in this one, and I do feel this is the type of game Hererra would relish if it gets scrappy in the middle, but looks like he'll still be out.

Our season is pretty much over. But I would just love for West Ham to take top 4 from City. Let's help them do it.

If we win it we're only 1 point off 4th spot. I'm expecting a low score draw though - which would suit the hammers fine. Nothing would make me happier than Pep managing a Europa league team next season.

Could go ahead of West Ham if we win this now. Still got to play them at the Boleyn and Spurs at WHL, get a decent run going (we've done it before) and we're not out of this yet

Saying its over is quite negative. We arent going to win anything sure, but 4th is still possible. Its not a great thing to aim for but we need to make the most out of what we can at the minute, no point wishing anyone else will take it other than ourselves.

Rashford should be benched for Memphis. Hes a young player and played too many games lately. Needs a rest

Might put a fiver on a Fellaini hattrick.

[–]LordAntoineVan Nistelrooy 0

I'll give you odds of 200-1 on that

Thankfully I'm going into work right at kickoff so I don't have to suffer through this!

Who am I kidding, I'll probably be checking my phone for updates every few minutes cause I'm crazy and as much as I want to look away from this season I just can't :/

[–]Crusty_Gammon_Flaps 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

All I would like is a good performance. If we lose but still played well then I will be happier than if we lose and play shit.

Winning would put us 1 point behind them, we have to go for it

I really want an academy player to win this game for us, whether it be Lingard, Rashford or CBJ. Would be so fitting.

Another Must win game...we've been saying those words alot this season. I just want Man Utd to stop playing like strangers. Stop playing like weaklings and start playing like warriors!

We can thank Fabregas for keeping West Ham down. If we win tomorrow we're 1 point from 4th! Come on Louis big bollocks it's time to step up or step down!

[–]Oblivion2510It Like the Suit 0

It's put up or shut up time. It's time for the players to kick themselves up the arse and put in the performance. Not for the manager but for the fans. They must put in a performance of their lifetimes like they were going to put into the imaginary Europa league final. They must win this enough of the half hearted performances this is the Manchester derby. It's time to give the club back some pride and dignity enough with the sloppy play go out and put on the best performance of your lives to show why you are deserving of wearing the jersey

With West Ham dropping points this has become one of the most important derby games in terms of direct correlation to where a side will finish. United win and it blows 4th place race wide open again, City win decisively and it puts them in a great position.

Should be either Darmian or Valencia at RB after Varela's terrible performance Thursday against Liverpool. Maybe Darmian at RB and Valencia at RM and take out Lingard. Memphis on the left and Martial up top with Rashford on the bench.

Alright guys, here are some very discouraging "news" that I've got.

Some of you might remember that a couple of transfer seasons ago I mentioned that somebody I knew, and that was well connected, told me Arturo Vidal was pretty much a done deal at Man United. He ended up going to Bayern and I thought my contact had simply been full of shit, but a few months ago Arturo Vidal admitted that he almost moved to our club. So it had been true after all.

Well, I met this same person about a month ago (we chatted about the Vidal story and everything), and amongst other things he told me that for last summer's transfer window, Barcelona had actually accepted a bid for Lionel Messi... by Manchester City. City met the release clause, but conversations hardly began at all because Messi has zero interest in moving away from Barcelona.

For the moment.

What struck me about our conversation was how omnipotent City seems to be right now. World class facilities, well-structured internal operations, virually unlimited money... and for as big and great our club is, we currently don't have any of that. Our facilities are world-class, but probably for 2008 or 2010. Our internal operations seem to be in a state of moderate shambles right now, and we do have money but I bet we couldn't dream of meeting Messi's release clause and still have money to pay his wages.

I know Messi is just one player, but he's a great example for what our club currently can and can't do.

By the end of the conversation I wasn't too depressed, though, because since they couldn't get Messi they ended up with Sterling, whom I hear frustrates the shit out of everyone in the team.

The thing we have over City though is history and prestige. It wasn't long ago we were champions of English football and you won't find many people who disagree that United will return to be champions again in the not-so-distant future.

Big and small name players will always be more attracted to joining this side of Manchester than anywhere else in England and this will be true at least for another 5 years of dismal football imo.

If we got Jose next summer there won't be many footballers who'd turn us down unless they didn't want to move to England.

[–]Xixak 0

Only a few players will care about that though. Most players are living very much in the present.

It's like the Lakers in the NBA. They haven't been able to bring in top players recently because they haven't been good, even though they're probably the most storied franchise in all of pro basketball. Then you have a team like Golden State which has been around for a long time but never really won anything until recently (like City) and people are talking about Durant going there.

Players look at the present and future, not the past when making decisions on where to sign. Unless they have a specific romantic relationship with a particular club.

No prob. Gives everyone in every timezone a chance to participate and as they're stickied to the top they don't get buried.

I just sat down all excited to watch the game and didn't even look at the date... What a let down

I told my brothers, cousin & sister in law if Liverpool makes it to champions next year and we don't I'm not watching any games for a year.

We beat win 10-0 tomorrow
