How would you line up against City? (self.reddevils)

Massive game this Sunday against City. This is how I would line up.

        De Gea

Valencia-Smalling-Blind-Rojo Carrick-Schneiderlein Lingaard-Mata-Memphis Martial

Even though Valencia isn't a natural defender he can cope with Sterlings pace, and Darmian is right now experiencing a case of low self-esteem, otherwise I would pick him. Regularly I would have opted for Herrera besides Carrick or Schneiderlein but in a game like this we actually need to think more defensively and Carrick's still our best passing player so he gives us that dimension. Kompany and Otamendi's gone and we'll probably face Demichelis and Mangala and I really think LvG should take advantage of that and play our biggest attacking threat on as a striker, and it shouldn't be a problem since Martial naturally is a striker. Hope Memphis have shown great form in training too.

I'd love to try something new, just to see what happens.

See what happens if we revert back to a 4-4-2...

Dropping Varerla because he's more attacking minded and I think Valencia will do a job attacking wise on the right with Darmian being the more defensive fullback. Blind needs a break, he's not looked too bad recently but he's got to be knackered at this point. Give one of the youth a shot at left back. I'd prefer CBJ because of his deadly crosses but I can't remember if hes fit or not. Memphis playing as a left midfielder should be interesting. Giving him the freedom to be more attacking would probably work out. Rashford and Martial in the middle to see if they can't conjure up something with their deadly pace and ability to beat a player.

DL - Rojo (Shaw next season will be massive for us on the left.)

DMC - Schneiderlin (sitting, protecting back 4)
MC - Herrera
MC - Scweinsteiger
AMC - Mata
AML - Memphis
AMR - Lingard

ST - Martial (he's effective on the left, but give him a chance again up top to score more and get in more dangerous positions with Rashford coming on as a sub with his pace in the 60th minute and Martial moving to the wing, giving more pace to try and get in behind tired defenders)

I think this is great although you have to remove Herrera or Schweinsteiger since you can't use 12 players.

I agree moving Martial out wide and bring in Rashford if needed.
