There is more salt in this comment section than in all of the oceans in the world

did you know that the salt in the oceans is from salt in the ground that has dissolved into the oceans during millions of years.

I would like to unsubscribe from salt facts.

I'm sorry, we didn't quite get that. Did you know Roman soldiers were sometimes paid in salt - which is where the word 'salary' comes from? To get more salt facts respond with: more please.

Did you know that salt can effectively cure vaginal itching and bacteria due to its antibacterial properties? Wash your vagina with concentrated warm salt water whenever you feel the itching. This will give you great relief instantly and prevent further multiplication of bacteria!

Excellent! I'll use this as soon as I get a vagina installed.

Also.. More please!

"salting the earth" comes from the third Punic war, when the romans salted the earth of carthage so that nothing would grow.

I believe this was merely metaphorical! Or perhaps they salted a small portion of the fields as a warning. Would've been a waste to destroy all that fertile land they were taking over! Fun salt fact nonetheless.

You underestimate how much the Romans hated the Carthaginians. Fertile land meant little compared to the balance of power in the Mediterranean. They were very thorough in burning and salting everything.

We basically do this slowly via road salt every winter.

Did you know that when used correctly salt can improve the taste of your food? Some say that it makes food taste like what food should taste like.

Did you know that the suffix -wich in the names of British towns indicates that that place was once a supplier of salt?

More Please

DID YOU KNOW?

Adding a pinch of salt in your coffee actually removes some of the bitterness.

I'm too hesitant to actually try this...

Adding it to beer makes it less flat

It actually does work. The trick is to literally add only a pinch, and you can't taste the salt.

At first I was like well I'll be damned, but when I read google's explanation this doesn't seem true: "Middle English: from Anglo-Norman French salarie, from Latin salarium, originally denoting a Roman soldier's allowance to buy salt, from sal ‘salt’." Furthermore, reddit actually talked about this in 2013 and surmised there's not enough evidence to suggest they were paid with salt.

Na you can't unsubscribe

I hear Trump is going to build a salt wall to keep all the illegal salt out of America's salt reserve.

Which means trump needs lots of pillars of salt, trump/medusa 2016 confirmed.

Edit: I don't know which ones hair is crazier.

Close but no cigar, Medusa actually turned people to stone. If you want people turned to salt, you'd be looking for Lot's wife at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. At last, all those years of Sunday School are really starting to pay off!

and from the bernie sanders supporter tears

The US is the number 2 largest producer of salt in the world. When Trump said he wanted make America number 1 again, I didn't realise this is what he meant

That was pretty good and I'm a salty fellow

The best part is they're the people who are always going on about America nowadays being "full of easily offended pussys" or having the thinnest skin

"SJW libcuck libtard idiot"

I knew a guy in high school who would always called me stupid, fucking moron, dumbass, every single time I saw him. Years later we got in touch and he apologized, he was doing badly at school and getting shit from his dad, I was doing alright and it made him angry. He'd call me stupid as a weird defensive reflex because he was scared that he was stupid.

Oddly enough, I kinda did the same thing back at him, calling his jokes 'lame'. He was reasonably popular and me, not so much.

So when I see edgy teenagers obsessing over 'cuck'... when you get angry and fling 'the worst thing you can think of' as an insult at people you dislike you tend to give away your insecurities.

Of course, there are a lot of Trump supporters here. It's well known that crackers are quite salty.

I feel bad that it took me two minutes for me to get the joke.
