If memory serves me correct LVG started out by not being too keen on DDG.

Agree with the other posters, please keep doing this!

As for De Gea, I think it's more likely than we realize that Madrid could spring for him this summer. I too think he will stay, but they could give a Godfather offer before their transfer ban goes into affect that would be impossible to refuse. In that case, an outside replacement will definitely be needed.

I'm hoping the good form of Navas will make RM feel they don't need De Gea. However, a good Euros by DDG, and it'll be too much probably.

If DDG will have to leave us by the end of the season, I would rather him getting a good EURO campaign so we can get more money out of him as we are now in a much better position (he has a new contract with us) than last summer. Not that we need those money, but if it breaks the GK transfer record, it is just a good thing for DDG.

I'm hoping to do one of these for each position, mainly as a point of discussion. Let me know your thoughts

KEEP DOING THIS. A quick skim tells me this content is awesome, I'm going to read the others properly later but this is exactly the sort of thing I want to read, particularly off the back of the result to focus my attention on something else.

Thank you, hopefully it'll spark some discussion.

Could you improve the layout at all? Maybe add some headings and line breaks, just one big wall of text that is very off putting right now.

Put a couple in. How's that? There are paragraphs but it is a bit of a read.

Even that is already so much better! Thanks

I can't imagine a scenario where De Gea stays this summer. He would have moved this season, and it was only an administrative error that stopped this happening. His personal circumstances haven't changed, and it's likely that United won't be in the Champions League next season. I fully expect him to leave.

Haven't been hearing too many rumours about possible replacements, so I suppose it depends on who our manager is come July 1st.

Good write up, and it's a good discussion point if people get into it.

Not sure if it's something you want to add or not, but seeing as mourinho is in your title, maybe just add a small list of the players he's had in that particular position to try and see what he prefers?

You possibly don't want to get too in depth in a "who will mourinho sign" discussion, but I think it would add a bit, don't even need to add much description.

E.g. For keepers, Mourinho has had/signed: Vitor Baia; Cech; Cudicini; Courtois; Begovic; Julio Cesar; Casillas and Diego Lopez. These tend to be tall and great shotstoppers, good on the ball but not their main attributes.

For full-backs (LB and RB): Nuno Valente; Bosingwa; Paulo Ferreira; Glen Johnson; Wayne Bridge; Ashley Cole; Boulahrouz; Ivanovic; Belletti; Azpilicueta; Baba Rahman; Maxwell; Maicon; Zanetti; Santon; Ramos; Arbeloa; Marcelo and Coentrao. There is a mix here between attacking, skilful fullbacks and strong, defensively sound, fullbacks. I think it leans towards the more defensive-minded fullbacks with Boulahrouz/Ivano/Azpi/Zanetti/Ramos, as well as playing CB's in the full-back positions occasionally (like Carvalho/Alex/Zouma if I remember correctly), where some of his attacking minded fullbacks (Bosingwa/Coentrao) haven't performed as well.

An excellent idea - I should go into the Mourinho stuff a little more. Potential targets and whatnot.

Appreciate the work you put in for this thread, but it could be summed up thusly:

Thank Christ for Real Madrid's fax machine
