Can anyone who watches Bayern play often prove me wrong. In my mind David De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world. I have seen Neuer play many times (though obviously not as much as Dave) and he was world class but I've seen Dave make some impossible saves. His reflexes are not normal.

I feel the sweeper-keeper hype elevates people's opinion of Neuer but as a shot stopper, Dave is ahead from what I've seen. Am I just biased?

He's also more commanding and has a greater presence in the box due to his imposing stature. His sweeping and comfort level with the ball only adds to it as well.

Yeah, general consensus seems to say it's Neuer so I figured I must be missing something or biased. I wouldn't trade them though.

I would purely because de gea wants to leave for madrid and would've done so already easily. Neur already played for bayern and would be far likelier to stay till he needs to be replaced or when he wants to go back to his old club before retiring.

I think Dave will need to win the euros or the world cup with Spain in order to cement his place as best keeper in the world. Unless he does that (or we win the CL or maybe even the Europa), then he's always gonna be recognised as nearly as good as Neuer by the general public.

I personally think Dave is better though.

I've watched a lot of Bayern this season, Neuer is one of the best in the world but it's not as clear cut as some people make it out to be. So many people who don't watch Bayern just spout that Neuer is the best by far and won't even discuss it, like they've been conditioned to say it or only care about fifa ratings.

I think it's close between him and the other top keepers like De Gea, Buffon etc, it's hard to compare keepers because a lot of their performance depends on the defence, and the one you think is best depends on personal preference.

Been sick of the football all during LVGs reign (and Moyes obviously). We were winning games under LVG but the style was dire but because we were 1st/2nd etc people were happy.

I get that we can't compete with Bayern/Real/Barca right now but that's no excuse considering Atletico and Dortmund have less than us and should be no more attractive than us to play for. Competence. That's what it all comes down to.

Simple- we replace again with whomever is the best choice at that time. These things are done by top clubs all the time till they get it right. Ours just seem to love playing in a puddle of shit and then adding a piece of dynamite in it to make it worse.

I'm fed up at the state of how things have panned out this year. We're mediocre, becoming an average team, with little or no exciting football. I got so hyped last night when we scored first, but most of me knew it was only time before we conceded another goal. Whenever we score, I feel we're going to concede another goal almost immediately after. I really didn't want Jose at United, but if he could come for a couple of years, spice up the performances, bring in the right players, clean some of the rubbish out and then pass onto Giggs, i'd take that right now. Ronald Koeman is in the news today in regard to the United position, I don't know how I'd feel about that.

I'm not sure about Mourinho. I really want him to become our next manager but I think someone from inside the club wants Giggs to take over. We will hear more news about Giggs and how he's a great option to become our next manager from people who are close to Fergie once we're out of FA Cup and top 4.

If Giggs gets the job with Woodward still in charge it will be a disaster. The club needs a rebuild from the top down. Not all players need to leave but we need to keep the core and build around them. All of Fergie's teams had a core of players that were basically the rock of the team. Woodward needs replacing for sure as well.

It's good if you have friends that play it. Don't make the mistake I did and stump for the £10 basic edition if you're wanting to experience the "full" game as the DLC packs that come with the newer 'Taken King Editions' (around £25 on Amazon) offers better value for money in terms of content.

I think end of season there are big changes afoot at united. Not just the manager, I think in terms of players and top level execs. Glazers are not idiots, greedy money grabbers maybe, but shit is hitting the share price, they won't have that.

So normally I make this Free Talk Friday thread so people actually talk about their life and what they're doing on the weekend or what they're looking forward to. It's a chance for our community to learn a bit about one another and see what different backgrounds we are from and offer advice to those in need. I'm finding it quite strange that all the LVG supporters have seemingly got together and pivoted their talking points into "LVG is building something for the future". That seems to be their end game now. Outside Dave and Martial, there is not one other player that is guaranteed a position under our next manager. Sure Jose will keep some he sees potential in, but can anyone say there are definitely other "safe" players?
