He didn't exactly made a mistake. He just mad the wrong choice. In this situation you can't anticipate what a forward does. He either scores by shooting at the near post, or he simply lays it off. It's obvious what De Gea thought was going to happen. If he chose differently, that makes no difference to what Coutinho decides. He could have laid it off just as well and it would still be a goal.

You could argue he should have focused on the near post. It might still have been a goal if Coutinho laid it off. Can't know that.

Didn't get nearly tight enough to begin with. Gave him loads of space to get himself set and running at pace. Once that happens it's so much harder to defend, especially back peddling and especially once you cross the that line into the box.
