I'm not saying the way he made the joke was good, smart, or funny. Seriously, it was a terrible joke with no comedic value except for the fact that he was suspended for it. Using a public name creation as the vessel for that joke was absolutely idiotic. BUT that does not mean he believes in what he is saying. I don't make the jokes to strangers because I have taste. What you're saying is that who he tells the joke to is the thing that makes him a racist, not the content of the joke. So I could make a racist joke to my sister and not be racist. But if I say it to a stranger that means it isn't a joke anymore? My intention still hasn't changed, just my audience. It's still a joke, and not my actual belief.
